this sounds like a warning about ChatGPT.
it’s from a college math syllabus in 2000.

AI is amazing to YOU. what’s amazing to me is a walk in the winter sun surrounded by trees big and small. a bird or two looking curiously at me. maybe a faint smell of something I recognize from childhood

I do not wish to talk or think about the Gretta Gerwig film. I will not even name it.
I won't even acknowledge its existence. I have said all I need to say on the matter, and others have said it better than I. As a lifelong fan of C.S. Lewis, I refuse to engage with it.

Jadis (The White Witch) is blowing up The Eagle & Child. This is the pub where Lewis, Tolkien and The Inklings, an all-male literary group, famously met. Greta Gerwig and @Netflix are quite possibly "blowing up the patriarchy" here, and completely up-ending the world of Narnia here--and the legacy of the stories.

AI is literally a scam, the most sophisticated scam ever. They created a machine that mimics the output of intelligence. Then told everyone it was really intelligent — an impossibility, but the illusion was convincing. Based on that deception, they fleeced investors of trillions.

Sharing this again because it remains the best response we can give Gerwig's subversion.
Not only do many things here look horrendous - or at least utterly unlike what the Chronicles actually are - but I am very apprehensive regarding the way Aslan will appear. In one of the scenes here, we see him kind of merged with the cosmos, and, no matter how that is presented in full in the film, it seems like a very dangerous visual choice. I don't think Lewis would be too happy with the visual language used.
I am reminded of his remarks about the 'Life-Force' people usually imagine, a sort of pantheistic conception, and this brief excerpt: 'When [people] try to get rid of manlike, or, as they are called, "anthropomorphic," images, they merely succeed in substituting images of some other kinds. "I don't believe in a personal God," says one, "but I do believe in a great spiritual force." What he has not noticed is that the word "force" has let in all sorts of images about winds and tides and electricity and gravitation. "I don't believe in a personal God," says another, "but I do believe we are all parts of one great Being which moves and works through us all"—not noticing that he has merely exchanged the image of a fatherly and royal-looking man for the image of some widely extended gas or fluid.'
Not saying it's the same thing - but given everything else we know about the film, things keep pointing towards failure.
