I think many people are seriously confused as to where value comes from.
It's really a #marketing topic, so let's explore this.
Lessons from a billionaire investor:
1. Have a big plan
2. Start buying
3. Cultivate strategic partnerships

Yeah, if you have been working on not lying to yourself this convention should trigger your "cope" alarms.

China likes to talk big, but this one isn't on China.
Filipinos, Malaysians, and Koreans all have stories of their grandparents being abused by Japanese forces.
In 1910 Japan had the respect of all of Asia for standing up to European powers. You threw it away.

People might look at Pan-Africanism and naively assume there should similarly be pan-Asianism. In 1910, this would have been correct. But Japan was the leader of the efforts to build a Pan-Asia Collective and when they attacked everyone else that ruined the whole idea.

Some people will get upset about this but there is a certain glory in a society where people are at peace with where they are.

This is really good #writing.
To really do a send-up of someone — to describe them in a way that seems devastating rather than simply petty — you must accurately understand them.
On good authority from connected tech friends- Zuckerberg read this story (not kidding). Hated it. Training to beat my ass in revenge.

30. "Developmentally appropriate tasks" are related to the fact that many 30 year olds today are less mature than 20 year olds 100 years ago.
Life doesn't always pitch to your strike zone. Figure it out.

103. "John Brown's body lies a-mouldering in the grave;
His spirit marches on"
Is a lot grimmer than modern people take it.
He executed blacks who were insufficiently devoted to his cause.
You can see this spirit when minorities disagree with activists in the modern day.
104. Human nature is undefeated.
Individuals may rise above it, or heroic effort may cause people to transcend it for a few brief moments -
But overall, humans will act according to their nature.
