C.S. Lewis wrote Aslan as Christ. Male. He. The Son of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea.
Netflix has chosen a woman to give voice to that explicitly male Christ figure.
This doesn't happen in a cultural vacuum. For years, Hollywood has been deliberately breaking the connection between biological sex, gender and identity, particularly in stories presented to children.
Male becomes female.
Female becomes male.
And eventually the audience is expected to pretend there are no differences. As if they weren't there.
Now that treatment has reached Aslan, one of the most recognizable representations of Jesus Christ in children's literature.
This is not “artistic vision.” This switch from male to female of a representation of Christ in literature is both disrespectful of C.S. Lewis' original work and and the man himself.
At what point does “inclusion” become the deliberate erasure of the source material, and a mockery of the Christian faith at its center?

I believe everyone should help each other in any way they can out of love, but I really don’t blame the man for his reaction after everything society has put men through. How can we shame and blame them for even something like chivalry and then expect them to do it?

I was talking to my 82 year old mother yesterday. I asked her to recall the days when women were not allowed to borrow money. First she corrected me, single women, widows, etc ... could borrow money. It was only married women who were limited. And mom explained that married women were not allowed to borrow money because banks were not allowed to collect from them. The debt belonged to the head of the household and that was normally the husband. And she was FINE WITH IT. She sure didn't want to be saddled with a bunch of bad debt if dad's schemes went wrong.
Either way, according to my mother most women had zero problem with not being legally responsible for household debt. They considered it a benefit rather than a limitation.
Then the liberals academics got involved and "fixed it".

The only reason this week's Ceuta crisis was contained was that Spain -- with Brussels' implicit agreement -- ignored EU refugee law. But if the law leads to absurd, unsustainable results, you need to change the law.
(True for us too -- asylum law needs to be scrapped.)
The migrants left because Spain ignored their requests for asylum and failed to provide humane conditions of "reception" for the asylum-seekers. Essentially, the people of Ceuta hunkered down, closed their shops, and starved the newcomers out. Both of these things are unlawful under EU law.
As we all know, illegal immigrants file asylum claims regardless of the chances of success, because it will buy them a few months to settle into the destination country and activate kin networks. They also know that no European country ever deports more than a small fraction of denied asylum-seekers.
Why did Spain decided to legalize 1.2 million failed asylum-seekers and illegal immigrants? Because, owing to legal obstacles erected by Spanish and European courts, it would have been prohibitively expensive to deport them.
Belgium for its part, is also trying the starve out asylum-seekers by denying food, lodging, and assistance to asylum-seekers there. It has been cited 12,000 times by courts and simply ignores the citations because it doesn't want to encourage asylum-seekers to stay in Belgium.
Still, something like 2,000 people are determined to stay in Ceuta. Migrants will revise their plans and begin planning the next border crossing. All they have to do is wait for the government of Morocco, which is allowed to dictate EU border policy for some reason, to wave through the next mass of migrants.
The fact that Spain was able to repel this human wave only by grossly violating EU law tells you everything you need to know about EU law. And the new framework deal won't solve the problem, since it seems unlikely to do anything to make deportations faster and easier.
As long as migrants know there's a 90% chance they will be allowed to remain in Europe forever as long as they reach its territory, they will keep inventing new ways to arrive and to evade border regimes. amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2…
