Do I know anyone on the French or German tech scenes who would be willing to give advice to a soon-to-be-graduate cousin of mine advice on breaking into tech there?

Chuck Jones nine rules for how the coyote and roadrunner functioned.
So cool.

The Bendix Central Air Digital Computer (CADC) was introduced in 1955. It was a critical component of fighter planes, using tiny gears to compute parameters such as airspeed and altitude. It contained 46 synchros, 511 gears, 820 ball bearings, and a total of 2,781 major parts. 🧵

Please do not delete your twitter account. Go ahead and have fun with the new toys, maybe get better work done spending some focussed time talking to fewer people. But it took decades to establish the social networks and institutional understandings we have here.
Today in meaningless program documentation convention decisions: Should account numbers in my accounting system use code formatting (e.g. `4400002` in markdown) or not? #ADHDistraction

There are hundreds of modern, web-based solutions for managing employee expenses. Some are just card based. Some also manage cash advances, and reporting by the employee. But none seem to handle managing a petty cash box balance, which companies have been doing for centuries 😑
It's not like it's even difficult. You just have to take the extra step and ask where the cash advance comes from, and use that as the petty cash box outgoings, and then the change and reprovisioning as incoming cash. We can do it on a spreadsheet, we just don't want to.
