the PHP stuff is dreadful because there's gonna be so many abandoned sites from the early 2010s that are just gonna get owned now

it's crazy how the AI advancements revealed how much we resent each other. im not good at math or drawing but i never resented the math people or the artists for their ability to do that stuff

i think a much better demo than booking flights and hotel reservations would be an AI that finds a suitable doctor and hospital that takes your insurance while you're having a medical emergency

Most people don't want to tinker with computers. Computers (incl. smartphones) are means to various ends.

So weird how comfortable people were with using AI to plagiarize this great video. Everyone has become too comfortable being fucking losers.

This single transition says so much about how Apple approaches a problem. Other companies copied the aspect ratio, more or less, but because they didnโ€™t understand the motivation and reasoning behind it, they couldnโ€™t copy the essence of what makes it so successful. If you have this aspect ratio, and do a lot of work in software, itโ€™s no longer two products glued together, it appears as one seamless, continuous product. This is complicated to do when the inside display is a different display technology, with a different bezel thickness, and a camera in a different location (hence putting it behind the display on the inside). You donโ€™t begin with a product size and shape, you begin with the idea that this is one singular product and make every decision in service of that idea.
At a lot of companies, the internal concepts look good but what ships lacks the same level of craft. This iPhone Duo transition is even better in the shipping form than what it looked like internally when I last saw it. This isnโ€™t luck or something that occurs easily; people are putting in long hours to make this happen.
