“sometimes in life you’ve got to risk it for a chocolate biscuit…… and I love chocolate biscuits” What a feat, what an achievement
Yesterday, a British man completed one of the greatest sporting achievements EVER. Russ Cook ran the ENTIRE length of Africa in 352. That is 16,294KM, which is equivalent to 386 marathons and 19.1 million steps. Congratulations - this is truly an incredible accomplishment!

Boys, you better start tightening up those calibrations on your yield monitors. Your data can and will be used against you in the court of law. John Deere/etc is always watching you. They know you’re planting dates, your populations, your fertilizer applications, your varieties, your harvest date, your harvest moisture, your harvest yield. And can compare this same information to your neighbors. It’s just absolutely stupid to try to game the system.

Manchester City cheated Premier League rules, the Commission found. Did it also cheat HMRC? We've examined the decision and leaked Mancini documents. We think City likely failed to pay £12m in tax. There should be a criminal investigation. Thread:

Two years ago yesterday, my Dad, Jay, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. My family faced both unimaginable loss and shock, and as my uncle and I stood on the deck after the funeral home left, we assumed everything on the farm would just have to be put on hold while we figured out what to do next. The next morning as Danielle and I drove back out to the farm with our boys, we saw dust already rising in the fields as a large crew local farmers jumped in to help, putting their own harvest on hold. Nearly 30 combines, dozens of trucks, tractors, augers, and grain carts filled our land. The local dealership sent mechanics to handle equipment, the bulk dealer kept every tank fueled, a group of ladies cooked meals to keep everyone going, and there were countless others who simply showed up and asked what they could do. In just 48 hours, more than half a season’s work was finished, and our entire harvest was safely taken off. Seeing some of the toughest farmers and ranchers you’ll ever meet working through tears for our family was an act of grace that is almost impossible to fully comprehend. It was an absolute miracle and a blessing from God. During that time, as my family saw this unfold, I learned that years earlier, my dad had quietly helped organize the exact same kind of harvest support for another neighbor who had fallen on hard times, and my late grandfather had done the same at another earlier time. This is testimony to the legacy of both our family and community. And so again, to our incredible community located here in the Special Areas, and to everyone who carried my wife, Danielle, me and our boys, along with my mom, Jodi, my two grandmas, Uncle Darren, my brother and sisters, and our whole family when we couldn’t stand on our own: thank you.

Norwegian researchers drove a Chinese EV into a mine to cut it off from the world. It still tried to call home. The project is called Project Lion Cage. Tor Indstøy, a Telenor security executive, monitored his own NIO ES8 SUV for years. About 90% of the connections he logged went to Chinese servers, even though NIO tells European customers their data is processed in Europe. The car carries cameras, microphones, location tracking and always-on modems. Most traffic is encrypted, so researchers could see where it went, not what it held. That is the gap. China's National Intelligence Law requires companies to assist state intelligence work. Nobody has proven spying. The question is who can be forced to hand over the feed. A separate test by Oslo transit operator Ruter found the Chinese Yutong bus could be reached by its maker through software updates, including battery and power systems. Yutong says it cannot control steering or brakes. Countries buying cheap Chinese EVs should expect to ask what else comes with the price. Is a lower sticker price worth putting a Chinese-controlled sensor on every street?
Norway 🇳🇴 put Chinese 🇨🇳 EVs in a mine so the cars could not “see” the outside world. 🚘 They still tried to call home. 🛜 Researchers found data moving with the car switched off. About 90% of the traffic from the car they tore down went to China. Same country now selling cheap EVs into Canada. 🇨🇦 Cameras. Mics. Always-on modems. PRC intelligence law. This is not a green-car debate. ♻️ It is a rolling sensor debate. 🛰️ Ottawa wants the cheap sticker price. Beijing wants the feed. #cdnpoli #CCP

Asian #wheat traders: "fears are growing that several Black Sea shipments might not arrive on time". I'd call that a very optimistic take. How about "they'll be lucky to get anything out of the Black Sea at all"? ---- Reuters: "The cargoes were due to start arriving from mid-August, but many ships could not go in to load," said a trader who sells Black Sea #wheat to millers in Asia. "Buyers are thinking about replacing some of these cargoes with other origins, such as Australia, North America and Argentina." "Millers have booked about 2.0 million to 2.5 million tons of Black Sea wheat for arrival in the period from July to September, or about 30% to 50% of import demand, but fears are growing that several shipments might not arrive on time" #wheat #blacksea #oatt #sizovreport

The numbers are in! 12 months after Australia started letting American beef into this country we have purchased the grand total of 230kg of their slop. That's a $7,868.00 trade boost for the U.S. That's not even one cow. Well done Aussies!

While Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, appears to be on the verge of raising $5 billion for his private equity firm from the Gulf states that are now desperate to buy influence with Trump, the families of fallen U.S. soldiers have to resort to GoFundMe donations.
Major Alex Klinner has been named by his family as the 2nd of 6 US service members killed in Thursday’s refueling operation to support the US war against Iran. He leaves behind a wife and three children. (Photos from GoFundMe set up to support the family gofundme.com/f/major-alex-kl…)

🚨 JUST IN: A migratory bird just shattered world records — flying 8,425 miles (13,560 km) NON-STOP across the Pacific without landing once. The bar-tailed godwit doesn’t stop to eat, drink, or sleep during its migration across the Pacific Ocean. Its journey from Alaska to Australia takes roughly 11 days of continuous flight, covering over 13,000 kilometers through storms, headwinds, and open ocean with zero land beneath it the entire time. Before departure, it does something almost surgical to its own body. It shrinks its digestive organs down to almost nothing, converting the stomach, intestines, and liver into raw fuel. The bird essentially eats its own gut to make room for fat reserves that will power its wings for nearly two weeks straight. The brain doesn’t fully sleep either. Half of it stays active while the other half rests, alternating in shifts mid-flight at altitude over the open Pacific. The godwit is simultaneously unconscious and navigating with magnetic field sensitivity that no human instrument in the 18th century could replicate. What makes this genuinely staggering beyond the physical record is the navigational precision involved. The bird leaves Alaska and arrives in New Zealand with accuracy that would embarrass early GPS systems. It reads Earth’s magnetic field, atmospheric pressure gradients, star positions, and potentially quantum-level compass mechanisms inside its eye that literally let it see magnetic field lines overlaid on its visual field. Evolution spent millions of years building an aerospace navigation system inside a 300 gram animal. We spend billions engineering machines that do what this bird does on instinct, fat reserves, and half a sleeping brain. The longest recorded non-stop flight by a commercial aircraft is around 20 hours. This bird does 11 days. Without a runway.
🚨BREAKING: Scientists tracked a bird that flew 8,425 miles (13,560 km) without stopping even once — the longest non-stop flight ever recorded.

His plan was simple, stay at the back and hope everyone else comes-a-gutsa. Being the last man standing is now known as "doing a Bradbury" in Australia.
