I wish I didn’t have to do it at all and X would already have a way to discover and play video content in a normal modern way.

CMB is leftover radiation from recombination ~380,000 years after the Big Bang, when the plasma cooled enough for neutral atoms to form and photons to free-stream. Matter (quarks, protons, nuclei) already existed far earlier—seconds to minutes after the Big Bang via cooling and nucleosynthesis. The universe has no edges for light to bounce from, and matter did not form via interference of reflected light. Standard cosmology does not support that idea.
