If you have ADHD, one of the worst things you can do is goon (a kabbalistic weapon that makes you depressed and retarded). "So it's not weird that gooning dysregulates me and turns me into a rude ahole?" Maybe not. Anything that suddenly drops, depletes, or disrupts baseline dopamine will rapidly lower an ADHD individual's threshold for frustration, directly triggering severe irritability, mood slumps, and emotional volatility Biochemically speaking, irritability in individuals with ADHD is not a personality flaw. It is a direct byproduct of your neurotransmitter dysregulation and altered brain connectivity. "I thought that ADHD was just about attention/focus". No. The exact same biochemical pathways that govern focus also manage our "emotional brakes". For example, the ADHD brain is characterized by a baseline deficiency or rapid reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine. But besides focus and alertness, these also act as chemical stabilizers for frustration. When dopamine levels are chronically low or fluctuating wildly, the brain's threshold for frustration drops significantly for example. So minor inconveniences, like a sudden interruption, a delayed task, or sensory overload, cause a rapid chemical crash, triggering an immediate, irritable "fight-or-flight" response. This is why you can be mislabeled as rude, an a-hole etc while your reactions are not targeting the person you have in front you. "So it's just about dopamine?" I wish it was that simple. In individuals with ADHD, there is an altered structural and functional connectivity between the PFC and the limbic system. The prefrontal cortex is the executive command center of the brain, responsible for self-control, logical reasoning, and overriding impulsive reactions. So without strong, catecholamine-driven signals from the PFC to dampen down an overactive amygdala, emotions surge rapidly and cool down slowly. While ADHD is most famously linked to the prefrontal cortex, abnormalities in the limbic system are also heavily linked to core symptoms like emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, and attention deficits. Think of the limbic system as our survival software. -The amygdala scans the environment for danger and processes emotional responses. -The hippocampus helps store long-term memories so the brain can remember past dangers or safe spaces -The hypothalamus manages basic needs like hunger, thirst, and body temperature. So it's crucial for homeostasis overall, reward and threat detection, memory and learning. Now in many individuals with ADHD, the amygdala shows structural differences or atypical connectivity with the rest of the brain. This can lead to "bottom-up" emotional hijacking, where feelings like frustration, impatience, or boredom are felt with extreme intensity, driving impulsive actions before the prefrontal cortex can step in to modulate them. The hippocampus is essential for contextual memory. In ADHD, alterations in this area can cause struggles with working memory (forgetting what you were doing mid-task) and "time blindness" (difficulty using past experiences to judge how long a future task will take) The limbic system is a major pathway for dopamine. In ADHD brains, a deficit in dopamine signaling makes it difficult for the thalamus to filter out irrelevant sensory data, resulting in chronic distractibility, fatigue, or low motivation. "How to fix?" There is no simple way to “fix” the limbic system. It is not a single broken part that can be repaired. It is a network of structures whose activity and connectivity can become dysregulated by chronic stress, trauma, sleep deprivation, inflammation, or other factors. Recovery and better regulation are possible because these circuits are plastic, but the process is gradual. There is a long list of things that can help. For example: -Exposure-based therapies and CBT help extinguish exaggerated fear responses by repeatedly pairing threat cues with safety in a controlled way. This strengthens prefrontal inhibition over the amygdala and builds new extinction memories. -Regular physical activity is one of the most reliable ways to support hippocampal neurogenesis. -Optimizing sleep. Chronic short or fragmented sleep amplifies amygdala reactivity and weakens prefrontal regulation. -Trauma-focused therapies (including EMDR and prolonged exposure) are particularly relevant when past trauma has left the amygdala hyper-reactive and the hippocampus less able to contextualize threats. -Regular meditation is associated with increased prefrontal and anterior cingulate thickness/activity and reduced amygdala reactivity to emotional stimuli. The ADHD brain explained. A guide to understanding: -What it really is -How it develops -Its neurochemistry -The key environmental factors that impact these mechanisms -How to rewire key pathways in order to be able to focus and crave hard tasks -Alternative tools that can help repair the underlying biology of the disorder -Why most treatments fail or have serious side effects -What actually moves the needle to get it under control and more. Smart people sound stupid to midwits. A 140-IQ concept sounds like 90-IQ ignorance to a 110-IQ college normie. This is why midwits ruin everything. They INVERT the truth to try to prove that they are smart. It works like this: 140 IQ: "The more X you have in a city, the more Y you will get." 110 IQ: "AHA! But I am so smart that I can see NUANCE! Not every X will add more Y! That is why every X must be treated as if it SUBTRACTS Y! Because you CANNOT JUDGE INDIVIDUALLY! Therefore the OPPOSITE of the truth is true SOMETIMES, and so we must act as if the opposite of the truth is ALWAYS true or else you do not look like you know about NUANCE!" 140: "...But more X always equals more Y." 110: "LOOK AT THIS X! HE ISN'T DOING Y RIGHT NOW! ARREST THIS BIGOT!"

This 2008 paper answers: why anything is beautiful why science exists why jokes land why you get bored why art moves you why babies explore why music has hooks It boils down to a single, cold mathematical principle. Jürgen Schmidhuber is one of the founding fathers of modern AI. But this paper wasn't about building a better machine. It was about proving that human curiosity is just an algorithm. It’s called "Compression Progress." Your brain is a prediction engine. Its only goal is to take the overwhelming chaos of the world and compress it into simple, predictable patterns. If something is completely predictable, like a ticking clock or a blank wall, your brain compresses it instantly. Zero effort. You experience this as boredom. If something is completely random, like TV static or white noise, your brain can’t compress it at all. You experience this as frustration. But what happens when you look at something complex, and suddenly discover a hidden rule that makes it make sense? The exact second you get the punchline of a joke. The moment a chaotic melody resolves into a perfect hook. A baby realizing that dropping a cup always makes a sound. In that split second, your brain successfully compresses the data. And to reinforce this behavior, your brain floods your system with an intrinsic reward. A hit of dopamine. We gave that chemical hit a lot of romantic names. We call it "beauty." We call it "wonder." We call it "art." Scientists like Einstein aren't doing magic. They are just hunting for equations that compress the maximum amount of universe into the smallest amount of text. Composers like Beethoven weren't channeling the divine. They were engineering optimal compression puzzles for the human auditory cortex. We like to believe our sense of wonder makes us fundamentally different from machines. But this paper proved that wonder is just a mathematical reward function for efficient data sorting.

The most distinctive mark of a superior individuality is becoming obsessed with something specific: an idea, an object, a territory, a woman, etc. It is this divine obsession that Plato spoke of, the one that propels humanity toward new epochs and discoveries. Precisely this is what our plebeian age blocks from an early stage in the young, through medications and medical fictions such as “autism,” “OCD,” and other frauds. What they fear most is the emergence of a philosopher, a prophet, or a military leader whose sole aim is an existential drive to create a new state, a new political order. That is why the idea that obsession can be the catalyst of something great in the world has simply vanished from the horizon of the common man.

spoke to enough people at the top, you realize the game is actually pretty simple once basic needs are met, everyone starts chasing the same things good sleep, a stable relationship, regular workouts, time alone, books, deep focus, eating on time, and freedom from other people’s opinions funnily enough, you don’t need to reach the top to start optimizing for any of them

The concept of “self-learning” is a modern invention. For most of human history if you wanted a skill, you either find a mentor to teach you, or you read a book. There was no "school", or course, or degree. Benjamin Franklin left school at ten and formed himself into one of the best writers, scientist, and diplomat with a library pass. Abraham Lincoln had less than a year of classroom. He read Blackstone in a store that never had three hundred people in it, then went home and stayed until he could do Euclid at sight. Napoleon disappeared into the library at Brienne while the other boys played. History was a manual for him. Michael Faraday bound books for a living and educated himself out of the pages he was sewing. The Wright brothers ran a bicycle shop. They learned flight from journals, letters, and trying things out. Churchill finished near the bottom of his class, then read Gibbon four or five hours a day in the heat of Bangalore until he had the education the school had refused him. The idea that you cannot learn a subject unless someone enrolls you in it would have been incomprehensible to them. HONESTLY A RIDICULOUS CONCEPT. This has gotta be such a large part for why the world has stagnated. People are looking for permission to learn, when it really should be a culture of curiosity that's driving it. We should stop calling it "self-learning" as if it it is some trick. It is LITERALLY the default. Go get a book, sit down for 12 hours straight, and DO THE WORK.

An oncologist with 30 years in the ICU said the patients whose bodies refused to develop the disease all shared 3 habits. Not genetics. Three patterns of release. 1. THE SWEATERS Those who sweat until salt crystals form sauna, hard labor, heat. Sweat is the body's exit route for cadmium, arsenic, and lead known carcinogens. A 2012 study found these metals appear 2-10x higher in sweat than blood. Those who don't sweat store them in fat tissue where cellular mutation begins. 2. THE HUNGRY-STOMACH SLEEPERS Those who sleep with a light hunger. A c*ncer cell is 10-20x greedier for glucose than a healthy one. Empty stomach drops insulin, autophagy activates. Cells digest their own damaged debris. This mechanism won the 2016 Nobel Prize. Longo's Cell Metabolism study: 13+ hours of nightly fasting reduced breast c*ncer recurrence by 36% in 2,413 women. 3. THE SHORT-TAIL-OF-RESENTMENT Someone who flares up and releases within an hour. Suppressed emotion keeps cortisol elevated for days. High cortisol shuts down NK cells — the killers that destroy emerging tumor cells. Levy's 1987 NCI study: women with the highest emotional-suppression scores had the lowest NK activity. The one who yells and lets go resets cortisol in an hour. The one who holds it keeps her guard off for years. THE PATTERN NO ONE TALKS ABOUT All three share one thing: they release. Toxins through sweat. Damaged cells through fasting. Emotions through expression. The body was designed to let go. Modern life trained you to hold on. The same "holding on" that creates disease blocks manifestation. Your body cannot receive a new reality while clenched around old toxins and old resentment. The vagus nerve is the master switch. When it activates, cortisol drops, NK cells come online, and the body exits survival mode — the only state where healing and manifestation happen. Which type are you closest to?
