NEW: Louisville autistic teen 15-fires rifle at mother and police during domestic call
On October 5, an LMPD officer responded to a domestic call after a stepfather reported his 15-year-old stepson assaulting his mother.
While the officer spoke with the mother, the teen appeared on the porch with a rifle and fired toward them, striking a nearby car.
Thompson moved the mother to cover and ordered the teen to drop the weapon.
The teen fired again; the officer returned fire, striking him multiple times, then rendered aid.
The 15-year-old, who has autism, was taken to the hospital for surgery and is expected to survive.
Thompson is on administrative leave pending investigation.

Santa Ana, California — Officers in a marked Santa Ana Police unit conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle occupied by three male adults. During the traffic stop, officers encountered a subject (41-year-old Alejandro Montes) armed with a handgµn and an officer-involved SH00TING occurred. Montes sustained wounds to his upper torso. Orange County Fire Authority treated and transported Montes to a local trauma center where he was pronounced deceased. The other two occupants and officers were not injured.

🚨BREAKING: A U.S. Air Force service member has DIED after falling from the rafters of San Antonio’s Alamodome during a pregame rappelling demonstration honoring military personnel before Saturday’s UTSA-Navy football game.
The airman was rushed to a hospital but did not survive. A ceremony meant to honor those who serve has ended in tragedy.
The Air Force is now investigating what went wrong, including whether proper safety procedures were followed.
His identity has not yet been released.
