Reform UK Councillor Couple: Undeclared business interests, overdue filings and extremist links
Portsmouth Reform UK councillors George Madgwick (@georgedmadgwick) and Emily Strudwick (@StrudwickEmily) are partners. Both hold senior political positions, while their business interests and Madgwick's political activities raise questions about transparency and accountability.
Undeclared business interests
Madgwick remains a director of Parnells Food Outlets Limited, which does not appear on his Register of Interests. Its accounts have been overdue since October 2021, and it faces strike-off proceedings.
Strudwick owns Steak Roast Limited, registered at a property Madgwick has declared owning. Its confirmation statement is more than four months overdue, and it too faces strike-off proceedings.
Businesses associated with Madgwick have also faced employment tribunal awards totalling £4,386, which he disputes.
Senior positions across Reform UK
Strudwick is now Reform UK's group leader and leader of the opposition on Portsmouth City Council.
Madgwick's responsibilities include:
- Senior Campaign Manager at Reform UK HQ, overseeing London and the South East, including by-election and parliamentary campaign preparations.
- Reform UK Group Leader at Hampshire County Council.
- Executive Board Member of Hampshire and the Solent Combined County Authority.
- Chair of Hampshire County Council's Corporate Services and Resources Select Committee.
Portsmouth Patriots connections
ITV revealed Madgwick's support for the Portsmouth Patriots, whose demonstrations have attracted Nazi sympathisers and Nazi salutes. Madgwick acknowledged that Patriots organisers had helped Reform campaign in May 2026.
Questions for @ReformParty_UK:
Why is Madgwick's directorship absent from his Register of Interests?
Are both councillors' financial interests properly declared?
What scrutiny has Reform undertaken of its senior campaign manager's involvement with Portsmouth Patriots organisers and the intimidation allegations surrounding the leaflet?
These questions concern two senior Reform UK figures with significant responsibilities in local government and the party itself.
