Long before America was “discovered,” Indigenous people have taken care of these lands and called it home.   Today, on Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor their resilience, their traditions and leadership across Illinois. We recommit to bringing restorative justice and protections to tribal communities. And we reject any attempt to erase our history.
