We sincerely appreciate the generosity of everyone who has donated buses and vehicles to support this campaign. But beyond the celebration, Ogun people deserve to ask an important question: at a time when many communities across the state are struggling with serious infrastructure deficits, is this really where so much money and resources should be going?
According to the announcement, over 120 buses and vehicles have been provided to support mobilisation and campaign operations across Ogun State. That is a significant level of resources being committed to political mobilisation.
Meanwhile, many underserved communities continue to struggle with bad or inaccessible roads, inadequate schools, poor healthcare facilities, lack of potable water, unreliable electricity and other basic infrastructure that directly affects people’s daily lives.
There is nothing wrong with political mobilisation, and supporters have every right to contribute to a political movement. However, leadership should also be about recognising the needs of the people beyond election campaigns.
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, YAYI, has built considerable political influence in Ogun State. This is therefore an opportunity for him to ask his supporters, associates and political allies to look beyond campaign vehicles and invest in the communities that need help the most.
If people can mobilise resources on this scale for a campaign, surely similar energy can be directed towards fixing a community road, supporting a school, improving a healthcare centre, providing water or addressing other urgent infrastructure needs.
YAYI should use his influence to encourage those around him to leave a lasting impact on the people, not just a political footprint during election season.
Campaigns will come and go, but the communities will remain.

This is LEA Primary School, Idu Koro 2, Abuja Municipal Area Council, FCT a public primary school where children are expected to learn in unacceptable conditions in 2026.
The pupils are sitting on a dusty, bare floor because there are not enough suitable desks and chairs. The school building is visibly deteriorated, with a severely damaged roof, exposed roofing structure, broken or missing windows and doors, and walls requiring urgent rehabilitation. These are not the conditions under which any child should be expected to learn, especially in Nigeria’s capital territory.
This is about more than furniture. It is about the safety, dignity and future of children whose families depend on public education. A child should not have to sit on the floor simply because the government has failed to provide a basic learning environment.
The situation also raises legitimate questions about priorities and the use of public resources. The FCT’s 2026 budget was approved at approximately ₦2.285 trillion, with about ₦1.741 trillion allocated to capital projects. Residents should be able to ask whether the benefits of that investment are reaching communities such as Idu Koro 2 and improving essential public services, including basic education for everyone here.
The FCT Administration is also constructing residential accommodation for judges and justices, including 40 houses for judges across the FCT High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal High Court. Providing appropriate accommodation for judicial officers is a legitimate responsibility of government, but it is equally important that basic public-school infrastructure receives urgent attention.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, the FCT Administration, education authorities and the Abuja Municipal Area Council should urgently visit LEA Primary School, Idu Koro 2, assess its needs and commence comprehensive rehabilitation. This should include safe classrooms, functional roofing, doors and windows, adequate desks and chairs, and other essential learning facilities.
Abuja’s development should not be measured only by major roads, city-centre projects and government buildings. It must also be measured by the condition of classrooms where children in satellite communities are being prepared for the future.
These children deserve better. Their education cannot wait. #FixPublicSchools

How can children in Niger State still be learning under a tree in 2026?
At Madaki Primary School in Gbaiko Bosso Estate, Minna, pupils are reportedly learning under a tree, sitting on bare ground, with a blackboard fixed to a dilapidated wall. Even more worrying, the school is reportedly only about 6 kilometres from the Niger State Government House.
This is happening in the state capital, not in a remote community.
It raises serious questions about the government’s priority for public education, especially at a time when Niger State has received over ₦48.3 billion in FAAC allocations.
The wider picture is also troubling. Niger State has one of the highest rates of children out of school in Nigeria, with widely cited NBS data putting the rate for children aged 6–15 at 42.8%. Local officials have also previously cited more than 700,000 out-of-school children in the state.
So what is being done to ensure that children who are already in school have a safe and decent place to learn?
@NigerStateGovt and @NigerStateSUBEB should urgently visit Madaki Primary School and other schools facing similar conditions. Parents and residents deserve to know when these schools will be fixed and what concrete steps are being taken.
Education should be treated as a priority, not an afterthought.

This is the only school structure serving the children of this community, yet the entire school has just four rooms, which are being used to serve both primary and secondary school pupils.
The condition of this school raises serious questions about the kind of learning environment we are providing for our children. Pupils are forced to sit on bare floors during lessons because there are inadequate classrooms, desks, chairs and other basic facilities needed for effective learning.
Imagine being a child who wakes up every morning, prepares for school and walks into a classroom, only to have nowhere to sit except the bare floor. Imagine trying to concentrate on a lesson for hours while sitting on the ground, simply because your community does not have adequate facilities.
These children deserve the opportunity to learn in a safe, decent and conducive environment.
The problem is not just the lack of furniture. The school has only four rooms serving pupils at both primary and secondary levels. This places enormous pressure on the available space and makes effective teaching and learning extremely difficult. Teachers are expected to educate children under conditions that would make learning challenging for anyone.
This is a community school, but the children attending it are not second-class citizens. Their education matters just as much as that of children in better-served communities.
The Niger State Government received ₦48.37 billion in FAAC allocations between January and March 2026 alone. With resources being allocated to government at this level, communities like Zariyawa Maje should not have children sitting on bare floors to receive basic education.
We are not asking for luxury. We are asking for the basics: adequate classrooms, desks and chairs, learning materials, proper sanitation and a safe environment where children can learn with dignity.

🚨 STORY OF CONCERN: BAJI COMMUNITY, GURARA LGA, NIGER STATE
The residents of Baji community in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State are raising serious concerns over alleged repeated attacks, destruction of farmlands and threats to the lives and livelihoods of farmers.
According to the community, tensions between farmers and people they identify as herders have continued despite previous interventions and peace meetings involving government officials, security agencies, traditional leaders and representatives of the pastoralist community.
Madakin Baji, Malam Usman Yusuf, alleges that more than 60 people have sustained injuries over the past five years in incidents linked to the farmer-herder conflict.
He further alleged that the latest incident occurred on September 19, 2026, when three farmers — Yahaya Ibrahim, Rabi’u Jibrin and Bashar Mohammed — were reportedly seriously injured.
The community also alleges that farmers have, in recent months, faced threats and difficulties accessing their farms, while night grazing has allegedly resulted in the destruction of crops belonging to about 92 households.
A peace meeting was reportedly held following the allegations, with representatives of the local government, police, DSS, NSCDC, vigilantes, Miyetti Allah, the state government and the Baji community participating.
The community says agreements were reached for the affected herders to leave the disputed farmlands, relocate to a designated grazing area, stop further attacks and allow farmers to return to their farms.
However, residents allege that the situation has continued despite those agreements.
This situation requires urgent attention.
The Niger State Government and security agencies should immediately investigate these allegations, establish the facts and identify anyone found responsible for attacks, destruction of property or threats to residents. Where evidence establishes criminal responsibility, those responsible should be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Every citizen — farmer, herder or otherwise — deserves protection. No community should be left feeling abandoned or forced to take the law into its own hands.
We also call on community leaders and residents to reject retaliation and avoid spreading unverified information that could further inflame tensions.
The priority must be to protect lives, secure livelihoods, restore access to farms, enforce lawful agreements and rebuild trust between the affected communities.

This is the current reality at Junior Secondary School Gurfata, Ibwa Ward, Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT Abuja, the only secondary school serving this community, now pushed to the edge.
Gurfata community has been told it cannot admit new JS1 students because there are no functional classrooms left.
A destructive windstorm damaged the already weak structures, leaving classrooms dilapidated and unsafe. With nowhere to place incoming students, children who should be in school are now forced to stay home, denied their right to education.
This crisis is not new. Our team first reported this school in November 2024. Months later, nothing has changed. No repairs. No emergency response. No temporary learning structures. Just silence,while students pay the price.

The same minister has been publicly seen attending a graduation ceremony of his son in the United Kingdom, while children in Gurfata cannot even access a basic classroom.
The Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Sen. Ireti Kingibe, has also failed to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people she represents. The community has been left without advocacy, intervention, or accountability.
This school once served hundreds of children. Today, a growing number of kids are completely denied access to education because government has failed to act.

This is the current reality at Junior Secondary School Gurfata, Ibwa Ward, Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT Abuja, the only secondary school serving this community, now pushed to the edge.
Gurfata community has been told it cannot admit new JS1 students because there are no functional classrooms left.
A destructive windstorm damaged the already weak structures, leaving classrooms dilapidated and unsafe. With nowhere to place incoming students, children who should be in school are now forced to stay home, denied their right to education.
This crisis is not new. Our team first reported this school in November 2024. Months later, nothing has changed. No repairs. No emergency response. No temporary learning structures. Just silence,while students pay the price.

In 2026, residents deserve more than campaign-branded food items and a 4kg bag of garri presented as political support.
Senator Yayi can do better. The real question is: what lasting impact will this have on the lives of the people? The garri will be consumed within days, but residents will still be confronted with unemployment, poor infrastructure, inadequate healthcare, insecurity and other challenges.
Empowerment should be about creating opportunities, supporting businesses, improving education, building quality infrastructure and implementing programmes that can improve lives sustainably.
Residents should look beyond the temporary value of a bag of garri and demand accountability from those seeking their support. A token gift should never be allowed to determine the value of a person’s future or civic expectations.
To the people of Ogun State: receive whatever is offered to you if you need it, but remember that your civic choices and expectations are worth far more than a temporary gift. Ask what has been delivered, what is being promised, and what lasting benefits will remain after the campaign is over.

Pupils of Uokha Grammar School, Owan East LGA, Edo State, have reportedly been seen taking lessons on bare floors inside dilapidated classrooms.
MonITNG raised concerns over the poor condition of the school, including inadequate furniture and deteriorating classroom facilities.
