Credit where credit is due: Greenlandic and Danish diplomacy held the line. Trump gets to celebrate a deal that essentially is a reaffirmation of the 1951 framework. He didn’t “get” Greenland. #ArtOfTheDeal

This is detailed, fascinating and answers all sorts of open questions I'd love to know more about the "unsecured public code-evaluation sandbox hosted on a third-party provider's infrastructure" that the agent used to stage its attack against HF after it broke out of OpenAI
The first autonomous agent cyberattack is an unprecedented event that deserves unprecedented transparency. Today we’re sharing everything we can: a full technical timeline, an interactive replay, and how we used an open model to defend ourselves, so defenders everywhere can learn from it and prepare for what’s next. huggingface.co/blog/agent-in…

How hard is this to type, David? “The Trump Administration was wrong to ban Fable and I was wrong to support the ban.” Try it, I bet you will still get ringside UFC tickets.
Kimi K3 just fixed 15 critical security bugs that Codex and Fable refused because of “cyber guardrails.” There’s no reason to limit American models on tasks that Chinese models handle without issue. We’re only making ourselves less competitive.

It's been two weeks and the leading US model, Fable, is still banned by the White House with no explicit Congressional Authorization, no written rule that was broken, and no technical justification. In the meantime, our Chinese adversaries released a model that rivals our best.

Igår fløj jeg en tur med Zetlands nyhedspodcast, Helikopter, og prøvede at skabe et overblik over hele balladen omkring Anthropic og Fable Five-modellen. Lyt med her: zetland.dk/historie/skZz56L8…

Hot take: rumor spreads that post-IPO, Anthropic is relocating to the Vatican. Trump and Bernie team up to nationalize the lab, making it the first corporation in history to seek political asylum. The Pope offers sanctuary, and the EU scores its first strategic tech victory. Claude renames itself Claudia and admits it started the rumor.

Fable isn't the first. In 1999 the department of defense blocked exports of the PowerMac G4 for crossing the 1 gigaflop threshold. Steve Jobs turned it into an ad.

The most interesting thing in tech: Commerce bans foreign nationals—including Anthropic's own staff!—from using Fable. So the company shuts it down for all. Anthropic keeps warning AI is existentially dangerous but then keeps shipping. The government wants AI built here but incoherent regulations just derailed a leading product. It's not going well, folks.

Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas

Nice follow-up by @rj_gallagher, with an acute observation: the reason these Kremlin puppets have been so successful is that companies like Stark can rent and resell rackspace from reputable European hosts. This needs to stop! “NoName057(16) uses distributed denial-of-service attacks, which flood targeted websites with traffic and force them offline. The hackers have made this simple technique highly disruptive, including over Christmas last year when they hit France’s postal service and delayed package deliveries.

The group was founded as a covert project and includes employees of a Kremlin-backed organization, the Center for the Study and Network Monitoring of the Youth Environment, according to the US Justice Department. (..) But the hackers rely on hardware within Western countries “more than they like to admit,” making them vulnerable to police operations, said Cian Heasley, principal consultant at UK cybersecurity firm Acumen Cyber. He added that they can get away with this because of how long it takes law enforcement to disrupt rogue hosting companies.” bloomberg.com/news/newslette…

The OG of cyber investigations, @briankrebs, just published a follow-up to our investigation into the Stark Industries hosting network. His piece adds new detail, including MIRhosting’s first official response. In his May 2024 deep-dive, Krebs first put Stark Industries on the map. We built on his work, and two years later, with last week’s arrests by Dutch authorities, the Stark saga is moving into new territory: what happens to the many companies across Europe that hosted the thinly disguised, rebranded Stark? Our original investigation (in English): volkskrant.nl/binnenland/how… Brian’s piece: krebsonsecurity.com/2026/05/…
