Airlines are no longer required lodging, meals, or other assistance when delays or cancellations. Starting October 19, under 14 CFR 234.4, rule is to reduce the number of disruptions for which airlines provide amenities or compensation. federalregister.gov/document…

'You are gonna need to up your level of personal resilience and preparedness because we're building this thing aggressively and losing control but also we're gonna IPO at historic valuations' Just from a messaging perspective that is gonna *enrage* most human beings
This is our view as well. Relatedly, average people will want to increase their level of personal resilience and preparedness as their resources allow. We will be publishing about this soon.

We need to bring back the notion of "evil" in public discourse, because this is what this is.

Update: This "Super El Niño" will be perhaps the strongest in 500 to 1000 years, and could legitimately be the most extreme global weather or climate event experienced by humanity since the invention of the printing press. Only more extreme situation is a volcanic winter.
The upcoming "mega El Niño" could be the strongest since the 1877 event that wiped out 4% of the Earth's population due to heat waves, drought and pestilence. Scientists watching every weather model update are getting "heart palpitations" ❤️

I know a lot of people have already posted about it. But it's really just... I don't know. The president is selling 6-figure access to his social media feed so Wall Street algorithms can beat you to the punch and fleece you before news even hits your phone. He's making millions on a system designed to give a massive advantage to major corporate traders who can afford a feed that gives them information first. It's the single most corrupt thing I've ever seen a politician do with their office. Literally.

The most alarming thing about this graph is not just the amount of change, but the smooth consistency of the curve. If this were a startup I'd be really confident about their future growth. Unfortunately it is instead the planet we live on.
I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

So people on here just go around saying shit like this and then CEOs are like yeah, cool? Huh. They are going to be so surprised by the guillotines.

Incredible that we wasted the 2000s-2010s low interest free money phase of the US economy completely on making a million versions of Doordash instead of building useful infrastructure

China added over 543 Gigawatts to their grid last year. 434 GW was renewables because they are faster to build. The U.S. added a paltry 53 GW. We are losing the “AI race” to China because these idiots hate green energy. This is suicide by stupid.
I'm thrilled to report that after 35 years, on July 4th, we will end the subsidies for new wind and solar projects, thanks President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cut.

I don't say this as a partisan, I say this as an American. It is beyond outrageous that on the eve of celebrating our independence, a federal appeals court is allowing Trump to remove slavery exhibits (in Philadelphia no less!)
