Imagine being some high and mighty hall monitor about the most random sh*t. As if the modern shipwrecks are ruins we take school children to or base cultural art off of. Imagine wanting to stifle scientific research.
Jay walking is "illegal." Plenty of stupid laws.
My jaw is on the floor. One of my most played albums. I think I still have the casette.

A historic first in Istanbul 👩🚒The city's first ever female firefighters will take up their new roles at the Istanbul Fire Department's field force very soon. Welcome aboard, ladies!

“I promise I won’t cry. It’s just a single frame from a TV show.”
The single frame:
Tempted to take a creative writing class, maybe even screen writing.
Would love to utilize the free courses at CCSF.
Photography would be fun, too.
Oh, Cape Town. What a surreal landscape. My two fave seafood experiences: SA & Scotland.
By the wharf. Twelve Apostles (see: San Juniperro, Black Mirror). Penguins of Simon's Town. Top of Table Mountain, marveling at the Table Cloth (Karl's cousin).

Person: I like crisps.
Twitter: Do you realise how alienating that statement is to people who don’t like crisps? Do you realise how many people die of crisp-related conditions? Very telling that you failed to include popcorn. Your ignorance is showing. Do better.
The citizen sleuthing content on YT around the case is so tasteless.
Why are we like this as a society?
Periodically, a part of me wants to think men aren't as creepy online as women keep saying...untl I read the comments on a YT video of some poor woman trying to demonstrate how to cook a simple dish 🙄
Two magical gadgets I've purchased this summer to address tightness in neck & back:
• wearable TEMS device, w/ heat & deep too stimulation. It's symptomatic treatment but definitely provides relief.
• massage gun with multiple attachment.
I feel like a mobile PT clinic.
This is the wearable. Wife worked in ENT and cautioned against falling asleep with any such device:

A country so great, it needs an org to investigate the alarmingly high rate of murders of its indigenous people.
Just reading this line makes my skin crawl.
Replying to @InsiderNews
According to a report by Wyoming’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Task Force, most of the Indigenous people reported missing were girls.
Missing and murdered Indigenous people have not been met with the same nonstop media coverage as Petito.

I do miss small town signs, like these we caught on the Isle of Skye. Imagine feral goats being the scourge that brings your community together.

My cousin in Tehran, who had dreamed of raising his kids in America one day, called me before the pandemic to ask if America is worth it over Canada, given the gun violence they're seeing in the news.
He and family now have residency in Europe but likely coming to Canada soon.

Awesome breakdown of iOS 15 features. Feels like Apple actually considered how people use their phones out in the real world.
Thanks, Jason! The translation and Live Text feel especially useful for elderly.
This is exactly what an elderly customer visiting from Tahoe (?) told me a few years back when she came out to avoid the fires.
These folks don't care about clearing trees. They accept fire risk.
So many major issues stem from conflicting ideologies. Hard to change culture.
“I will never stop living in the woods,” Lenny said. “...You can be where there are earthquakes, tornadoes. Here it’s fires. We’ll rebuild, but we’ll do it different.”
