I want to continue to limit my shading to this more simple cell shaded look.. I much prefer it over any accidental over rendering :)) Despite this being an adopt, I think it's one of my fav drawings of mine LOL. The more I sweat about a piece, the worse it typically comes out. This took about 4 hours which is.. really fast for me, even compared to other symmetrical references. I spend 12-18 hours on my art,,, most of that time goes to rendering/coloring and edits.

I feel like some artists forget that their way of doing art isn't the only way to do art. "you should do this" "you shouldn't do that" according to WHO??? Why are we treating personal preferences and workflows like universal rules everyone has to follow the second they pick up a pen?? There's a difference between giving art advice and acting like your own personal rules for making art should apply to everyone. Not every artist has the same goals, process, or priorities. What works for you might not work for someone else, and that doesn't make their approach to making art any less valid than yours.. Example - ("You shouldnt use 3D models, they stunt your growth!") What if they dont care about growth?? What if they just draw for fun?? It's such a foreign concept to some people. Some of us just draw because we enjoy it, not because we're seeking improvement or engagement. My ass has only ever done 2 studies in my life and they were both STYLE studies.😭 I just...draw. I don't try to chase improvement, I just do what I want in the moment and some people really can't wrap their head around that mindset because they've beaten the idea of always being better into themselves.
