We strongly disagree with the Beacon Coalition’s endorsement of Rogers. We had no knowledge of these plans and are not funding this work. We have been clear since the end of the Democratic primary and said it repeatedly: we believe El-Sayed must win this race because Donald Trump cannot have another rubber stamp in the Senate. Third Way stands united behind our Senate Democratic nominees. A Democratic Senate majority is an essential check on Trump, and we are counting on El-Sayed to hand Mike Rogers his second defeat.

Look back at the 2006 midterm election, and you would see a political environment—and real-world conditions—that look eerily similar to today. There are four factors that mattered in 2006 that are similarly important to understand why Democrats are in the position they are today.

If history is a guide, Democrats are primed to make a large blue wave in just a few weeks thanks to candidates like James Talarico, Mary Peltola, and Josh Turek who are running on a mainstream playbook and offering a clear break from the status quo of the Democratic Party brand.

“Only 37% of Democrats say their party should become more liberal, while a majority, some 52%, say the party should either become more moderate or stay the same. In another sign of moderate impulses, two-thirds of Democrats in the poll said they prefer a candidate who reaches across the aisle in the spirit of compromise to pass legislation, far more than the one-quarter who want a candidate who won’t compromise on principles. And more Democrats call themselves ‘somewhat liberal’ than ‘very liberal.’ They support centrist ideas such as border security, police funding and voter ID laws more than the very-liberal group does.” wsj.com/politics/how-liberal…

Last December, Eileen Higgins became the first Democrat in nearly 30 years elected as Miami's mayor. Now, she's joining forces with red-state Democratic mayors across the country to help the party rebuild trust with voters on public safety, affordability, and economic growth. "[We're] pushing back against extremism and promoting a more practical brand of leadership that focuses on results over rhetoric." abcnews.com/Politics/democra…

Donald Trump promised that he alone could fix a political system that had been rigged by elites against the working class. He rode that message all the way to the White House. But Trump and Republicans are the ones rigging the system, and these Democrats are making them own it.
