After over two decades doing SEO, I still genuinely get a buzz when I reach '#1 in Google' for a massive primary single keyword. It's especially fun when you're competing against dozens of multi-billion £ companies, and you're not one of them, so you have to be frugal.
I've lost count of the number of emails telling me this in the last 48 hours. The price of Google licenses is absolutely crazy compared to just a few years ago!
"The pricing for your Google Workspace Enterprise Plus subscription changed on July 9, 2025"
I have to admire Google for continually trying to push broad match year after year...
I wonder how many PPC Consultants give it a go each year to see if anything has changed?
So this happens when it's the joint first time I've,
1. Accepted a substitution on any online shop.
2. Drank a Newcastle Brown in 20+ years
(instead of Guinness, I know hardly a substitute)
And then they tell you two months after that it's dangerous to drink... 🙃😂
So Google has just reported a massive jump in profit of +29%, but only a +14% increase in revenue. That's either some brutally heavy cost cutting and/or they've been jacking up the prices of their products... Nothing I've seen recently says this is coming from paid search.
I second that, thank you @Majestic really enjoyable conversations.
Great night with search geeks.
Thank you @Majestic

The price increases *some* tech companies are giving loyal customers is astounding. 140+% YOY.. and some. Sure we don't have to use them it's a free market, but when you support 'em over the years, and heavily integrate what a kick in the teeth. Good look passing it on to clients

The price increases from tech companies are crazy ATM. Google for example is increasing prices on Workspace products by 30.4% next year.
After a ~year+ in development, I'm delighted to announce that we're holding an official launch party for Mirador Local at 7pm on 13/10/23 in London. Why not join us for drinks & learn how this can solve your GBP headaches. eventbrite.co.uk/e/mirador-l…
