Was reflecting w a college buddy yesterday, how much my Google search usage has cratered. A year ago, there were pockets but today, I often go 1-2 days w/o a single Google search.

Had a random thought, what if there was a way to know what each person is listening to at the gym. Feel like there is some kind of dating or companion app within that premise.

The opportunity for Apple Homeview is if they enabled 3rd party IOT apps AND enabled new APIs so these apps can have live widgets so you can have an always-on dashboard. Currently, on an iPad, you can’t do that with maybe exception of the Apple Home app.

With so much of my work having moved to the terminal, I increasingly think of front-end UX investment as offering WYSIWIG as a feature

Not liking the Slack iOS app has moved “Save” to a “More Actions” sub-menu making it two clicks. It looks like they did this to elevate “Ask Slackbot” but this seems very early MS Copilot like where they took P1 flows across their apps to make room for a “Copilot” button to force-drive AI adoption.

Constantly reminded how little I know. Had lunch w a buddy in the space industry. He mentioned along w a bunch of other interesting tidbits that SpaceX is pushing everyone to the Starship platform and decommissioning the Falcon platform in the coming years. This basically means, everyone reliant on them to deliver their satellites to space need to redesign to the new form factor req’d for Starship which is a lot more flat.

Was speaking w a Founder who is dealing with multiple conflicts on his team and I was reminded of this quote, "Culture is a 50 day moving avg." You can fix it.

Maybe a bear signal or at least a slow-down. In the past 1-2 months, I’m receiving cold inbound, for the first time, from tier 1 AI co’s, like all the ones you cite as bellwethers of GenAI.

Wondering if Black Friday or discount-heavy ecommerce will survive as agents do more of our shopping. So much of ecommerce relies on consumer ignorance. For example, you simply don't know where or when a product might be cheaper. Imagine an alternative to Amazon where clicking "Buy" doesn't execute immediately but rather you give the agent a time window to search retailers, monitor prices, find coupons, and execute at the best available price. The entire system is becomes more efficient or in other words, the margin is the agent's opportunity.

Inspired by Artcraft and how they built OSS alts to the Adobe suite, I was curious if I could actually decompile. Set up Claude / Codex on my Windows machine and test ran it against some super small Windows apps that I had built many years ago. Surprisingly, I was able to decompile, modify the logo and recompile with one of them. I know we are remixing games but we can remix apps now to!

Falsely assumed that I could do my Apple Repair at Microcenter as it’s suggested via the Genius Bar booking site but it’s a totally different experience. 1. Their is a mandatory diagnostic fee even when it’s obvious 2. They quote a different price for the labor + replacement part I’m not sure why Apple suggests them as an option or at least presents them as a 1:1 equivalence when it’s an out of warranty repair?

The only B2B channels that are scaling now are AI-proof (eg conferences, dinners), a 20 year reversion to the mean.
funnily enough, ai sales agents helped push cold email reply rates from 5.1% in 2024 to 3.43% in 2026 classic tragedy of the commons: every team pays for a tool that degrades the channel for everyone, and no one can afford not to

Imagine if web publishers do the same, it’s definitely a fascinating tactic
Incredible: Not only is Google working to block AI crawlers, but @nozzleio uncovered evidence that Google is deliberately serving FAKE search results to scrapers The "poisoned" search results look real, but w/ garbage data. This influences AI crawlers, scrapers, & rank trackers.

The new Apple Homeview looks great but I also know that if I’m not literally right next to the device, I’m just going to use my phone. And my kids, although in theory it sounds great, will probably never touch it.

Have been rethinking how we prioritize segments and problems when building new products. Most frameworks or PM case interviews tell you to focus on TAM and pain. IMO, this has become tablestakes. Rather, does the problem lead to PLG or virality and do we have an unfair advantage? With an abundance of software, distribution and unfair advantages are the key differentiators.

It is wild that there is an entire ecosystem of well funded startups that just eval the latest models to verify whether they work as they scored. I suspect 50%, maybe higher, already treat all model releases as the Beta channel and won’t consider it a Release channel until it’s been in market for at least x months.

Reading about how bot activity is down after strikes on Yandex data centers. Maybe ignorant but aren't most bots using VPNs and so they would route outside of these data center or are we saying that the s/w powering these bots are being run at those data centers?

Went camping this past weekend and 75% of the sites were vacant although fully booked online. As a backpacker, it’s already difficult to get permits for desirable hikes. With agents now able to book the second a site unlocks, everything will probably move to lottery.
