Official Statement from the Amhara Fano National Movement The Prosperity regime continues its years-long campaign of forced displacement, targeted killings, and persecution of the Amhara people across Ethiopia. Recently, these operations have intensified into identity and faith-based massacres, most notably in the Wollega and Arsi zones. Recent Drone Attacks (October 29, 2026): • Jari No.2 IDP Camp (South Wollo): Consecutive drone strikes targeted vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) who had fled previous violence in Wollega. The assault killed over 61 displaced individuals—mostly women, children, and the elderly—and critically injured more than 123 others. • Goncha Siso Enese Woreda (East Gojjam): A drone strike on a prisoner-of-war custody facility in Debre Genet Kebele killed five former Prosperity Party officials and severely injured nine others. • Enemay Woreda: Bombardment completely destroyed the Goba Bete Meskel School, disrupting recently resumed local education. • Our Position and Call to Action: The Amhara Fano National Movement remains resolute in its struggle to protect civilians and restore sustainable peace. In light of these continuous state-sponsored assaults, we issue the following urgent appeals: • To the Ethiopian Public: The regime's persistent atrocities prove that a decisive political and structural transition is the only path to survival. We urge all citizens to unify and coordinate efforts to shorten the tenure of this destructive governance. • To the International Community: We call upon international human rights institutions, global bodies, and diplomatic missions to condemn these egregious violations of humanitarian law and support the Amhara people’s legitimate aspirations for justice, democracy, and survival.
