Key changes:
- 400ms → 200ms: Target slot duration cut by 50%.
- 60s → 30s: Blockhash expiration window halved.
- 48h → 24h: Epoch duration shortened, with 432,000 slots per epoch unchanged.
The real test is what follows: do confirmation times improve consistently without increasing skipped slots or stressing validators? Wallets, trading apps, and offline signing flows must also account for the shorter blockhash window.
Faster slots create an advantage. Sustained low latency and network stability will determine its impact on adoption.
