They Tried Though

Dear Mr. @PeterObi I have tried to suggest to you many times -- whenever you are talking, go straight-to-the-point. Once you make your point, you can now use “Forever” to explain. You can not be going around a particular point and using lots of “NOT-WELL-THOUGHT-THROUGH” words.
MY MESSAGE HAS BEEN TWISTED Even though my media office has issued a responsible clarification on the situation, I still find it necessary to add my voice to address the distortion of my message by political opponents. I deeply appreciate Nigerians in the diaspora who work tirelessly and make enormous sacrifices to support their families back home. Their remittances pay for school fees, hospital bills, rent, and feeding expenses. Their patriotism and sacrifices deserve our profound respect. I never asked them to abandon their loved ones. My concern is that Nigeria should not remain a country where millions depend on relatives abroad for basic survival. Our goal must be to build a nation that provides jobs, affordable healthcare, quality education, and economic opportunities for its citizens. Political opponents may twist my message, but the truth remains clear: I am not asking Nigerians abroad to abandon their families. I am advocating for a Nigeria that will no longer abandon its own people. God bless Nigerians at home and abroad. God bless Nigeria. -PO

Stop Sending Money Home to Loved Ones Until Tinubu Is Voted Out — Peter Obi Tells Nigerians in the UK The 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians living in the United Kingdom to challenge relatives seeking financial assistance from them and support efforts to change the country’s leadership. Obi made the appeal during a town hall meeting with supporters in the UK on Sunday as he seeks to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election. Addressing the gathering, the former Anambra State governor encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora to convince their relatives to prioritise political change rather than continually requesting money from abroad. “I need you people and that is why I’m having lunch with you today. This lunch is for you to say, this man came and what he said is the reality of our problem. Let’s work with him,” he said. He added, “You have people at home who are begging you for money. Tell them no. Let’s put somebody who has proven, I said I’m not a saint, but at least I have said something.” Obi also challenged other former governors to demonstrate that they had saved a significant portion of public funds during their time in office, arguing that his record offered a basis for comparison. “So, let’s start with this one who is maybe less corrupt. We are not saying it is all, but let’s not pretend it is not happening,” he said. The former governor maintained that Nigeria could make progress if citizens rejected corruption and the alleged diversion of public funds, which he linked to the country’s poor public infrastructure. “That is how the countries change. Countries change by people saying, hey, wait a minute, enough of this,” Obi said, adding that money allegedly diverted by public officials could otherwise have funded schools and hospitals. He further recalled a time when, according to him, public services were better managed and contrasted it with reports of officials allegedly accumulating properties and missing public funds.

So, this @SegunShowunmi is technically saying that this Current Nigeria is NOT the Nigeria of His Dreams? He is praying for SOMETHING ELSE which he is still hoping that would come?? Yet when Obidients say that this Nigeria is a far cry from what we hope for, they begin to FUME.
Listening to it myself, all I can say is, may the Nigeria we all dream of finally emerge. Straight from my heart, without a script. Just me, my love for my country, and the deep hope that one day, we will see the Nigeria we have always prayed for. Oh Lord, You know my heart. You know how much I love Nigeria and how deeply I care about her people. You know the hopes I carry, the prayers I whisper, and the longing within me to see this land become a place where every Nigerian can live with dignity, peace, hope and a sense of belonging. Father, please do not let my love for this country be in vain. Bless me, guide me, strengthen me, and grant me the grace to witness the Nigeria I have always dreamed of. Surround me with people who share this love and give us the courage to keep believing, even when the journey becomes difficult. Lord, remember every Nigerian who still believes in this land, every heart that aches for a better country, and every soul that continues to pray and work for a brighter future. Please reward our faith, preserve our hope, and let our efforts bear fruit. Dear God, I want to see a Nigeria that makes my heart rejoice. Please let me live to witness that day. Let me be part of the story of her healing, her rising, and her greatness. I have loved Nigeria, and I will continue to pray for Nigeria and all Nigerians. May Your mercy speak for us, may Your grace lead us, and may the Nigeria we carry in our hearts become the Nigeria we see with our eyes. Amen.

An Open Letter to Segun Sowunmi: What happened to the man I once admired? Dear Segun @SegunShowunmi 1. There was a time I admired you deeply. 2. I listened to you defend the PDP and saw an articulate man capable of rebuilding a troubled party. 3. I even hoped you might become its national chairman during the debates surrounding Bukola Saraki and the party's future. 4. But admiration cannot survive every contradiction. 5. Over time, I watched your political positions change like the weather. 6. One moment, you appeared sympathetic to Peter Obi. 7. The next, you attacked him. 8. Yesterday, you defended Atiku. 9. Today, you praise Tinubu. 10. Every change may have an explanation. 11. Together, they leave me wondering what you truly believe. 12. Your praise for Nyesom troubled me most. 13. How does a man who professes democracy applaud political conduct that, in my opinion, undermines its very foundations? 14. Now, your disagreement with Reno Omokri has revived allegations about your former paid role with Atiku.I cannot independently verify the financial claims. 15. But Segun, how are you holding up? 16. Are you okay? 17. If life has become financially difficult, please tell us. 18. We can organise a GoFundMe. 19. I would rather contribute towards your welfare than watch a once admired voice surrender its credibility. 20. I bear you no bitterness. Only disappointment. 21. Politics permits a man to change his mind. It should never require him to change his spine. 22. And a man who stands for everything eventually stands for nothing. 23. I hope you find your way Kind regards, Dr Preach Ojukwu

Dear Segun Showunmi, Nigerians will count their votes. Arithmetic is not treason! 1. One of the oldest tricks of political intimidation is to frighten citizens away from their rights by presenting accountability as criminality. 2. I listened to @SegunShowunmi warning Nigerians against announcing election results before INEC, invoking the imprisonment of MKO Abiola as though we were still living under military dictatorship. 3. Dear Segun, I think it is time you stopped confusing electoral accountability with treason. 4. NO provision of the Nigerian Constitution makes counting votes, collating authentic polling unit results or checking electoral mathematics an act of treason. None. Zero. Zilch 5. The law distinguishes these legitimate activities from unlawfully declaring official winners or knowingly publishing false results. 6. And this distinction matters. 7. Every serious political party should independently collate its polling unit results, preserve signed EC8A forms and compare its figures with whatever INEC eventually announces. 8. This is what democratic accountability requires. 9. In Britain, party agents observe vote counting, scrutinise the process and independently assess electoral outcomes. 10. Nobody imagines that such scrutiny amounts to overthrowing the state. 11. Dear Segun, please stop threatening Nigerians with Abiola's ghost. 12. Abiola was imprisoned under a military regime. 13. This is a constitutional democracy, in case you have forgotten. 14. Nobody is attempting to take over INEC's responsibility to declare election winners. 15. Nigerians simply want to establish whether the figures announced reflect the votes actually cast. 16. Nigerians will count their votes. 17. Nigerians will collate their results. 18. Nigerians will check the mathematics. 19. And Nigerians will expect INEC's figures to tally. 20. Because democracy does not end when citizens cast their ballots. 21. It survives when those ballots are faithfully counted. 22. INEC has the authority to declare the results, but it does not have a monopoly on arithmetic. 23. Dear Segun, I hope you find this helpful.
“I heard some people saying they would release their own election results before INEC. They should know that the law in Nigeria is very strict. It is a treasonable offence.” — Segun Showunmi.

They Won Our Mental Drive Once Again
By this time in 2022, youths were campaigning aggressively and getting their PVCs. They believed so much in that electoral process. It was actually the first time in history that Nigerians actually believed they could make a difference. Fast forward to now, nobody really cares anymore.

Tinubu led in most of Lagos’s wards. Obi led in total votes. The difference came down to just three wards: Okota, Lekki/Ikate and Environs, and Satellite, where Obi’s margins were large enough to outweigh the rest. #INEC #Mundx #NigeriaDecides2027 #Lagos

I am about to cast a very important way the female brain operates. “The Female Recency Theory” A woman’s appreciation of a man’s gestures is inversely proportional to how long ago he made them. If you had to choose between starting a business for a woman and giving her gifts randomly over time, go for the latter. Women don’t know how to hold on to the emotional gratification of things you did a long time ago. They’re often more influenced by recent experiences. For instance, if you set up a business for her with ₦3 million in 2020, but from then until 2026, you suddenly became stingy, she might end up resenting you. You’d probably be better off spreading that ₦3 million across six years, consistently doing thoughtful things for her along the way. She’ll love you more for that. This is how 90% of them think.
This was so funny 😂 They say “Men Dey” 😂

The fact that these conversations are so normalised even in a Church in a country where women are the majority breadwinners is really telling 😀

In a very strong APC-Event,, they had to mention Peter-Obi.?? Now I am really curious. How many other Candidates were mentioned at this EVENT.?? @trigottista @General_Oluchi
"My very good friend, Mr. Peter Obi, the master of bogus statistics and incoherent economic prescriptions. I respect Peter Obi, but he has gone beyond his mastery of philosophy to make bogus claims about winning the 2023 presidential election without a shred of evidence to buttress his assertion. This is called delusion of grandeur" — Vice President Kashim Shettima
