Speechless moments. So emotionally proud of this team. The best teams are player-led and this team embodied that. It was all them! Every player owned their role, put in the work, remained confident & poised. Grateful to be a part of the ride.
Humbled by our Tosa community ♥️
Help me understand high school coaches hiring a basketball trainer to come work with their team during the season. Isn’t that what the coach’s job is suppose to be? Skill development?
I get not in season, coach can’t always work with players. But like Nov-Feb? Head scratcher.

WOW. How lucky is WI Volleyball to have Kelly Sheffield at the helm.
"The tendency, the human nature is when you see somebody, especially a female, that has a lot of confidence you try to knock them down. You try to look for things...what is wrong, how dare you have that kind of confidence. Which is just such a shame because we are trying to go the exact opposite direction."

Jr Raider tryouts this week. We have +125 girls that signed up. Wild that when I first started we had 50.
I’d like to believe part of it has to do with the legacy players leave behind, even after the final buzzer. Where impact isn’t defined by wins.
Great week to be a Raider!
On a walk, I saw a girl and her grandma playing basketball (go grandma). I asked her if she plays for a team, she said the Raiders, she’s in 5th grade and tryouts are coming up. I told her that I am the high school head coach and her face lit up.
Love Raiders in the driveway 🥹
Got some morning miles w/ @BaselineBanter3. Finally got a chance to listen to @Coach_Peplinski episode. Knows what it’s like to have to build a program from ground up. Not easy. Talks about balance. Girls participation #. How we can better advocate for girls hoops. Great listen!
One time my brother and I played horse and he shot free throws the entire time and I still think about that game and how annoying it was.
15 years later and I’m thinking it’s time for a rematch so maybe then I won’t randomly think about it 😅
Some favorites for the 1st & 2nd graders: 2v1 Advantage and Dribble Pac-Man
They absolutely LOVE these. Bonus is that they are solid developmental drills.
Class of 2036 loading 🔋 😂
Girls, want to evaluate your game? Play against boys. Find pickup games or a 1v1 partner. Faster game & quicker decisions. Get outside your comfort zone, that is where the ultimate growth lives! 📈

Our staff was named to the Top 100 High School coaches in the country, across all sports.
Testament to the passion, commitment, and leadership in all the roles of our team. Shouldn’t be a solo award because it takes a village!

To be included on a list with @idketterhagen and @coach_walz is pretty surreal.
I try to keep up with a daily journal. Today in 23’ we came home from UTC bball camp with a 4-5 record. That same season we went to State.
Reminder, summer record doesn’t define your team, but how you respond & the consistent reps now til season individually and as team will.
I’ll never forget a convo with Tara VanDerveer at Stanford. I told her I decided to coach high school, not continue the college level. Nervous on how she would respond. She said
“That’s great. High school needs more women in coaching. Make a difference”
Easy, no. Worth it, yes.
The only thing constant is change 🥺
Biggest feeling is gratitude because this last decade was special.
But we all know if we had healthy playoff teams this would all be different…
Thanks for believing in us #34!
