A quick test of the new live #captioning feature that is available in Google Hangouts meetings right now #a11y youtu.be/Wm9mr2KJ7Jc It worked really well, even with my poor speech quality! Could be very useful when you cannot organise communication supports at short notice

Who is the accessibility person at @Xero @XeroAPI ??? Getting a bit fed up with the lack of captioning on your video content nor is there anything else provided to bridge the accessibility gap ie transcriptions

@MSNBC @BWilliams @clairecmc You clearly underestimate the incredible amount of work stenographers do to push out verbatim transcripts so you all can do your jobs. It's disheartening to hear 2 people with national voices scoffing @ the profession in such nonchalance & impunity.

#pixel4's new Recorder makes it easy for you to transcribe your words, in real time. #madebygoogle

Looks very impressive...may have to reconsider iOS devices next time in favour of a Pixel4
This live transcribing on the #Pixel4 is insane! Does it on the fly, it’s accurate and you don’t need to be connected to the internet!#madebygoogle

Happy International Day of Sign Languages! How good is Auslan! Today to show my support for our deaf community, I’m taking part in the first #AuslanLeadersChallenge and having a go at Auslan. I'd encourage all Australians to give it a try. #IDSL2019 #TheDeafSociety

Not sure @Netlify are being fully supportive of women's tennis with their automatic domain names although I guess "pedantic" is better than "petulant". Still she didn't know that Ash Barty was the new No.1 so maybe this is karma? 👐
Just processed my final payrun in @xero for the 2019 financial year #EOFY Looking forward to seeing how easy it is to handle year end process now that we are part of the single touch payroll (STP) system 🙌

Such a great idea at #EDDpresents today! Using polarization to offer closed captions in movie theaters without a CC system. Instead, you just get a pair of glasses that allow you to see captions on the same screen as everyone else. NICE! 😎📽👍 #STEMrocks – at Roanoke, TX

So... not bad as far as accuracy, but at my zoom level I often only saw a single line at a time. After zooming out, I saw I would have gotten several lines. It fixes disfluency and adds punctuation, so not only speech rec!

Unfortunately that awful footer with the buttons appears right over them whenever your mouse moves or you breath on the trackpad. That needs to be fixed-- they need something to let us choose when that thing appears or not, like a button.

Dear @NDIS Web Accessibility Team. It would be much better if your placeholder text matched your instructions! For example, the dates are requested to be entered in using the DD/MM/YYYY format but the placeholder text doesn't match this! #website #a11y

Would you believe it, that the @FCC doesn't actually have jurisdiction of captions on @YouTube videos unless they've aired by "traditional" means first? If only the content creators could could lead by example.. content creators such as maybe the @FCC.. .oh wait...

Disappointing the rhetoric doesn’t extend to properly #captioning @fcc videos on @youtube Memo for @AjitPaiFCC - This is one of the easiest and effective #a11y techniques for digital inclusion
