The debate about intelligence without consciousness is not new. We’ve always wondered if there’s anyone behind the narcissist. 😅

This is where the LLM consciousness deception trend will lead.

LLMs are not conscious. Consciousness is unified meaning allocation: one act that takes a mark, a structure, and a world-slice and settles them as this, not that, together, for a subject. An LLM is a next-token machine. It shuffles statistical patterns over marks. It can emit “I am aware” the same way it emits weather. That string is not the allocation. There is no single grasp that terminates reference. Each token is conditioned on the previous ones. There is no “together.” A sensor that registers without allocating that the registration is occurring is still a sensor. The model is that sensor at scale. Even if it reports self-awareness, the report is more marks. Marks do not finish themselves. The regress stays open. Unified allocation is what would close it. The model does not have it.

Understanding consciousness is hard because it is private and first-person; science can track brain processes and behavior but leaves an explanatory gap for the subjective "what it is like." Your definition captures something essential by stressing unity—the binding of experience into one coherent field—and meaning allocation, the intentional directedness that makes awareness more than mere information processing. Both features are so basic we often overlook them, much like our own nose.

The Cover Story Narcissistic systems do not protect a person so much as a version of events. Once that version is mandatory, the person who describes what actually happened becomes the threat that has to be managed. In a family the arrangement is familiar. One member’s image is non-negotiable. Abuse is redescribed as stress, a misunderstanding, or the sensitivity of the person who complained. Other relatives carry the preferred story outward. Clinicians call them flying monkeys: they do not have to invent the smear, only repeat it, cut contact with the dissenter, and treat the dissenter’s anger as confirmation. The sequence has a name. Deny the act or empty it of meaning. Attack the credibility of whoever reported it. Reverse the roles so the original actor is the injured party. After that, the conversation is no longer about what was done. It is about the character of the person who will not drop it. The same arrangement appears when the protected image belongs to a political-religious system rather than a parent. On 30 September 2026, flydubai flight FZ1073 left Dubai for Tel Aviv. The co-pilot, identified as the Omani national Hammam al-Hammami, attacked the captain with a crash axe and tried to take the controls. The aircraft dropped more than 14,000 feet. Passengers and crew forced the cockpit, restrained him, and off-duty pilots landed the plane in Tabuk. The UAE attorney general later called it an attempted terrorist act. Israeli officials described Islamist radicalization; reporting indicated he had already been removed from flying duties in Oman over extremist material. Within about an hour, posts on X were assigning the incident to Israel, Mossad, or Jews as a false flag. Watchdogs counted nearly 3,000 such posts in twelve hours. The people who had just kept the plane in the air were recast as the authors of the plot. On 14 December 2025, Sajid Akram and his son Naveed drove to a Hanukkah gathering in the parkland at Bondi Beach with an Islamic State flag on the car, threw explosives, and opened fire. Fifteen people were killed. The prime minister said the attack was motivated by Islamic State ideology. A strand of commentary left that fact immediately. An ABC presenter was reported as saying the massacre had nothing to do with religion. Briefings and later political framing put the weight on gun laws, social cohesion, and the risk of Islamophobia or a far-right reaction. Communal statements treated hostility toward Muslims as the main injury. The flags, the prior extremist ties, and the choice of target became the details it was impolite to keep repeating. The doctrine the attackers cite is not obscure. Classical passages used by jihadist groups commands fighting non-Muslims and imposing submission on them. The manuals quote those passages and tell the reader the instruction is current. Perpetrators mark the framework with flags, pledges, or earlier extremist files. The covering response does not have to argue the Arabic. It redescribes the citation as misunderstanding, illness, or a provocation by the people who were attacked. Attention then moves to whoever refuses the redescription. They are tagged far-right, Islamophobic, or a threat to cohesion. That tag is the reason not to look at the network, the prior security flags, or the text the attacker treated as orders. Flying monkeys in this setting are not only coreligionists. They are editors, spokespeople, and politicians who will not say the plain sentence, and who treat the person willing to say it as the destabilizer. Naming the doctrine costs alliances, voter blocs, and the comfort of believing the violence belongs to the other political tribe. Attacking the person who names it is cheaper. The household version ends the same way. The perpetrator does not remain the responsible party for long. Responsibility moves to the passengers, to the country that was the destination, to guns, to a rumor mill, to the temper of the person still talking about the axe. The system does not have to erase every fact. It only has to make stating the central fact more expensive than dropping it. That is enough to keep the source of the harm protected.

If meaning lived inside the universe, you would already need meaning in order to locate it there, which means you never derived it from the universe at all.

Atheists like to claim that theists believe in magic (we don't), but atheists do: 1. Everything came from nothing. Ta-da! 2. Life came from non-life. Ta-da! 3. Reason and consciousness arised from matter and random chance but are somehow reliable. Ta-da! Atheists love magic.

Logic is necessary, universal, immaterial, and prescriptive. Where does it reside?

Physics is what logic is used on. It is not where logic comes from. Any attempt to derive logic from physics uses logic to do it.

Why are so many people complaining that Jev is “just a classifier”? First, it’s a universal classifier. Second, LLMs are per-token classifiers anyway, the classes are the tokens.

We can establish the existence of lasting torment through a simple chain of reasoning that follows directly from what we already know. We are conscious beings who experience pain. Pain is not random; it is the direct experience of misalignment. When your body is cut, diseased, or damaged, what you feel is the disruption of its proper order. The greater the misalignment from healthy functioning, the greater the pain. We also know, from the conservation of information, that information cannot be destroyed. Once consciousness exists, it does not simply cease to exist (Its information cant be destroyed). Now combine these facts. The universe itself is moving toward heat death, a state of maximum entropy where all usable order has broken down. In that condition, misalignment would be total and permanent. If consciousness persists through information conservation, then a conscious being experiencing that state would undergo unending pain, like an infinitely prolonged state of total disorder and suffering. From objective experience, physics, and the conservation of information, we are not heading toward peaceful nonexistence. We are heading toward an everlasting process of decay and suffering unless something intervenes to stop the trajectory.
