Last year, my wife, friends and I had this 'brilliant' idea: drive our 30+ years Mercedes from Tanzania all the way to the southernmost tip of Africa.
36 days, 13,663 kilometers and 7 countries later;
Here is the story of our epic road trip:
Withdrawing 30k from M-Pesa wakala costs almost as much as withdrawing 190k from an ATM
Btw, whoever introduced tozo ☹️
In Tanzania, some mission centres had G wagons. I think it was easier importing them from our previous colonial ties
Replying to @alexmwanzo
What kind of Catholics run G-wagons?
What kind of drugs were the nuns selling in those monasteries to afford that?
Iraola should just concede that we are better with Nyoni in midfield. Szobo should be competing for RB or with Wirtz

Wilson Wambugu used to work as a farmhand for one of his aunts in Nyeri, earning KSh 6,000 a month. Because his mother was mentally ill, he spent KSh 5,000 of that salary every month buying her medicine.
In 2023, one of his cousins from the same homestead approached him and said, “You’re always working and getting paid — today buy me some alcohol.”
Wilson told him the only thing he could afford was a cup of tea. The cousin refused, then suddenly said, “I’ll teach you a lesson.”
Wilson thought he was joking and went on with his work. About three hours later, the police came, arrested him, and accused him of defiling three young boys.
According to Wilson, the boys later said they did not know him, but were pressured into implicating him. Other details in the case were also allegedly forged.
He was taken to court and sentenced to 80 years in prison — his entire life destroyed, allegedly over a family dispute.
The saddest part is that his mother never even knew what had happened to her son because of her mental condition.
Wilson remained in prison from 2023 until last year, when someone heard his story and decided to help him appeal. Wilson broke down in tears as he narrated everything that had been done to him.
The appeal was successful, and he has now been released.
Imagine spending years behind bars over something like this, only to finally regain your freedom. Some family members… why would you do this to a young man like Wilson?
He could have died in prison.
