I was in a park near the base of operations for these things a few weeks ago and the noise level from them was unreal - it would drive you crazy if they were flying over your house/ garden regularly.

All the tech bros distraught that nobody wants the constant whirring of drones day and night over their homes.
Your lattes aren’t vital infrastructure, air delivered spice bags are unnecessary. Convenience for some doesn’t override the peace of all.
Good riddance Ta ta, laters.

Common Sense Prevails: Council Refuses Planning for Manna Drone Hub in Dundrum.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has rightly refused planning permission for Manna Drones Ltd’s proposed aerial delivery hub behind Holy Cross Church in Dundrum.
The decision centres on the company’s failure to prove that the hub would not damage residential amenity through noise. Planners found the submitted Noise Impact Assessment inadequate and could not be satisfied that constant drone operations would avoid adverse effects on homes and sensitive sites nearby.
This outcome backs the clear concerns raised by Monsignor Paul Callan and hundreds of local residents. The prospect of up to 288 drone flights a day disrupting Mass, prayer, meditation, and the quiet environment of the church and pastoral centre was always incompatible with the area’s established character. Submissions highlighted legitimate worries over noise, privacy and safety in a settled suburban neighbourhood.
Shortcomings in the biodiversity assessment added further weight to the refusal.
While Manna claims its operations meet international standards and would cause little perceptible change, the council was not convinced by the evidence presented. The refusal shows planning authorities can still put community peace and quality of life ahead of unproven commercial ambitions when the case is not made.
Common sense has prevailed in Dundrum.
Residents and the parish can continue without this disruptive proposal being imposed on them.

Cool Monday with some showers in East but sunny spells in West and North at first. Showers falling as sleet and snow on hills and high ground in East. Cool Tuesday and cloudy ahead with some patchy light rain. Risk of heavier rain moving up from South Wednesday.

Amazing work from @ESBNetworks who now restored power to 275,000 premises as of 8:35pm. They continue to work on restoring power to the remaining 120,000 premises but some will remain without power for days.
