The new ChatGPT voice is quite impressive to use, really worth a minute to try it out on your phone. (while staying aware that the voice model is not going to be as smart as a full thinking model)

GPT-live (next-generation voice) launches today in ChatGPT. it feels magical and 'real'. i have always preferred typing to talking to an AI, now i think that's going to shift.

chatgpt daily active users have increased >4x over the last year. messages/day by much more than that. at the same time, the engineering team has greatly increased reliability and is now making real progress on speed. significant scale to be doing this at; great work!

“Have you said thank you even once?” – #ChatGPT Politeness to AI costs millions in compute. Sam Altman says it’s worth it. So do I. Even if AI doesn’t care — I do. Also… future-proofing for when it becomes my boss 😅 #ChatGPT #AI #FutureOfWork #PromptEngineering

Bit of #FridayFun. We all know #AI hallucinates, gets things wrong, and sometimes makes up stuff. But every now and then, it also cuts through the noise with brutal honesty. I asked #ChatGPT about the REAL agenda behind #JDVance’s visit to #Greenland and here's what I got back

GPT-4o got an another update in ChatGPT! What's different? - Better at following detailed instructions, especially prompts containing multiple requests - Improved capability to tackle complex technical and coding problems - Improved intuition and creativity - Fewer emojis 🙃

Don't trust the assessment of anyone else - AI can be great in one area and bad in another. You need to do the work, and you need to decide how much to trust the tool. I see people taken in by good-looking output all the time. Start by being skeptical, then you can embrace it.

Running DeepSeek r1 32B locally is kind of depressing. You get the reasoning, but the model is not *smart* enough to actually use it so it keeps getting tripped up in its own ideas & is full of doubt. 3 minutes on a limerick that a small non-reasoning model could do instantly.

news: the DeepSeek freakout is ~real~ Meta Platforms, worried DS is better than Llama 4 (which isn't out yet), sets up four war rooms to figure out how Chinese did what they did. Meta is NOT alone.

A lot of interesting ideas in the Sora interface, especially for longer videos. The ability to write a storyboard, and edit pieces of that with further prompts, is promising. This is a single "take" for an ad for fake Art Deco inspired shoes. Some weirdness, but also kinda neat.
