Replying to @babylon1977 @DiscoveryUK
It would be wise for @giroditalia to give the rights to show a highlights programme to a channel that will do it right like @itvcycling . Every year @DiscoveryUK screw it up!

Main roads are maiming roads when it comes to pedestrian and cycle casualties. It why authorities all over the world are setting 20mph and 30km/h as the right speed limit where motors mix with people. And the heavier the traffic the bigger the saving of lives and bodies.

Disappointed @JamesOWild doesn't mention the active travel projects. They seem to have been quietly sidelined after a few (but not all) disability-discriminating barriers were removed from cycleways. Lynn has done the hard bit and made a LCWI Plan. Please give it some funding!
£25 million Town Deal for #KingsLynn includes exciting projects such as St. George’s Guildhall; new library, adult skills and community hub; and @cwa_college School of Nursing Studies
Extra £20 million will complement those projects & new ones to boost jobs, skills, heritage.

Many thousands of hours has gone into trying to improve on the humble Sheffield Stand.
After trying to park my bike recently using a “wheel bender” rack, I’m reminded that no one has - and likely never will - come close to beating the simplicity of its design. 🧵

What an odd attitude.
I'm a 'free person' who owns a car but also values having public transport, and would like safer streets to cycle, and I mostly walk day-to-day.
The less I depend on the car, the more options I have! Don't free people want choice?

In case you've heard news today about our glorious PM touting the wonders of 'Carbon Capture and Storage' it's a non functioning technology that has been pushed for the last 10 years by the fossil fuel industry. It's ridiculously expensive and doesn't work.
ie, it's a lie.

This is a brilliant response by @jonburkeUK.
- LTNs are vote winners.
- Address traffic on main roads.
- Recognise cars on our roads have doubled to 41 million over the last 30 years
- Residents living in LTNs reduce car trips made and car ownership

'Are you telling me it's healthy to have a continual traffic jam?'

Idea for the day. All 'ROAD CLOSED' signs (as pictured) be replaced with two variations ...
1. ROAD CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC
2. ROAD CLOSED TO MOTOR TRAFFIC

This week why not try to switch out some short trips in the car for walking, cycling or public transport. This can have a massive impact for the environment and help keep you fit and healthy.
