I loved covering this program in the early 2000s. But it was clear that the lack of D2 programs anywhere near them meant they weren't going to be able to afford to continue and I wasn't surprised when the program folded. It was a bummer though

There are things I've been disappointed with with the Governor, but I appreciate his consistent support of the trans community.
Last year, we announced the Department of Health is processing all requests to change gender designation on birth certificates within 3 business days, down from as much as a 10 month wait.
This week, I signed a bill ensuring Washingtonians can change the sex designation on their state IDs and birth certificates without fear of violating their privacy.
Washington state is committed to protecting the rights of transgender and gender diverse people. That includes their legal right to reflect their gender on these documents.

I love Cal. I think him doing this is silly. I think too much is being made of it. But can you imagine the drama if he'd greeted Naylor after not doing it with Randy? Even if he wanted to, he couldn't have greeted Naylor at this point.
It will never not be bizarre to me that we equate representing our country in sports so closely with the military and troops. Can you represent the country simply because you're American? It's so weird.
