Still remember Maradona saying during Copa America 2016 that the players should never return to Argentina if they failed to win it.
Messi would never say anything like that. He's been in their position. He knows firsthand the pressure of being expected to replicate what Maradona achieved, and he would never wish that burden on the next generation. His affection for the national team would never allow him to say something that only adds to the pressure these players face.
If anything, I can only see him coming out publicly to ask people to support the next generation, just as he did in his farewell speech. That's the kind of man he is.

I've never seen another circumstance where someone who does not even have the ability to read or write in the local language(s) is framed as an expert on that region.

The children of immigrants are not failing to integrate into French society.
They are integrating perfectly.
They see, with absolute clarity, how France actually works.
They see the résumé studies showing identical qualifications getting different callbacks based on the name at the top.
They see the stop and search rates.
They see which neighborhoods receive which services.
They see what their parents sacrificed and what it produced.
They see the gap between "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" on the buildings and the lived arithmetic of their daily lives.
They are not confused about France.
They understand it precisely.
When the response to that understanding is rage and refusal, the French establishment calls it a "failure to integrate."
What it actually is, is the logical response of people who have integrated completely and don’t like what they found.
That’s not an integration problem.
That’s an honesty problem.

Europe’s uprisings can’t be blamed on immigrants or students as the Right Wing Cuckolds want to. In France the full spectrum of the people is represented.
Both unionized workers and so-called “lumpen.” Both Yellow Vests and students. All have dissolved into one great and terrible whirlpool of destruction.
There is no ideology behind them: Just reality of people’s rage against intolerable conditions and a directionless future.
There is nothing immoral about the destruction happening. This strikes fear in the hearts of the corrupt, who feel at home in this wicked system.
These leaderless uprisings, which may spread to America, will amount to nothing.
But it serves as a reminder that people are ready to rise up. It’s the “leaders” that have failed them.
Revolutionary leadership can only be brought up through cultivation, clarity of resonance, purification of the heart, and moral attunement.
Just reading texts from century ago does not teach you to understand revolutionary ideas. It is living belief that must be cultivated, men and women do not die for dead certainty.
