I keep seeing people share their "Margins X%". Gross and net margins are so different... why are we generalising them...

Always remember to do things that don’t scale. Like catching up with good mates to talk cool sh*t. Loved catching up with Jacalin yesterday.

I’m playing the long game. Over the last 10 years, I’ve relied heavily on content to drive $10M+ in revenue across my businesses. This year, I’ve been building Choppity into the exact growth engine I always wished I had. Some of our competitors have raised $50M+. What they don't have is the meticulous care, detail, and first-hand experience my team and I put into the product. I know what actually moves the needle for creators, what wastes time, and what's just hype. The only timeline I’m operating on is my own... not an external board's. We build strictly for our customers and what serves them best. Oh, and yes... I’m 100% eating my own dog food. Just finished filming a new YouTube video, and I'm using Choppity to clip it right now.

September at Choppity: ✅ MCP for Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code + Codex ✅ Facebook + Threads posting ✅ An entirely new timeline ✅ Instant scrubbing, even at 1080p ✅ Brand template wizard ✅ A new header (to set up the next major launch) Then plenty of behind the scenes updates to our infra, speed etc. Live now ☝️

On August 19th... I made a shift in my content strategy. I stopped relying on my intuition to pick "the best" YouTube clips to post. Instead, I removed emotion from the equation, automated the process with Choppity, and posted every single clip our AI generated. I scheduled multiple batches across a few weeks. From AI clip generation to publish took under 6 minutes. Here is what happened next: ✅ +137.7K views ✅ +3,900 watch hours ✅ +605 new subscribers ✅ +$377.75 estimated revenue Once again, taking action proved my assumptions wrong. The clips I was sure would perform? They did just okay. The clips I thought would flop? They completely blew past my expectations. 🧠 Here are my top takeaways from this quick experiment: ✅ Clips are a volume game. Don’t get overly attached or precious about individual takes. Let the audience decide. ✅ Shorts fuel the algorithm. Short clips drive immediate awareness and feed signals to the algorithm, which then pushes viewers toward your high-retention, high-trust long-form content. ✅ There is gold in every long video. Every long-form piece has "choppity-able" moments you'll miss if you try to hand-pick everything yourself. If you aren't chopping your content, you aren't just missing out on views... You're leaving qualified audience growth on the table.

The future of UI isn't chat replacing everything, imo it's a hybrid model. Eric claims he "just wants it done," arguing that chat interfaces will eventually replace traditional UI altogether. But chat and UI solve fundamentally different problems. Traditional UI is built for specific workflows where you need granular, precise control. Chat interfaces, shine when you're tackling general, high-level tasks. At the end of the day, I’d much rather click a couple of buttons than have to type out a 50-word, hyper-detailed prompt every single time like... Cinematic macro shot of a sleek modern skyscraper built with an exposed, glowing golden steel exoskeleton. The camera slow pans upward revealing powerful structural beams anchoring deep into solid granite bedrock, while surrounding lesser buildings crumble in fast-motion fog. Hyper-realistic, 8k resolution, dramatic architectural lighting, photorealistic, 24fps.
User interfaces are not going away. Yes, humans will use computers alongside agents. When working with agents, we will need the ability to audit what agents do in a human-readable way. Yes, some interfaces (ex: dashboards, in-chat UI for ephemeral tasks, etc) will be generated. Most important interfaces will be intentionally designed. We will want both deterministic and non-deterministic interfaces in different situations. We're thinking a lot about the best ways to help designers shape non-deterministic systems at Figma. Yes, new input modalities like voice, VR/AR and BCI will change the way we use computers and introduce lots of new interaction paradigms. This is all very exciting :) Overall, the surface area of design will continue to grow much broader. Design is the new code and the key differentiator for software moving forward. Expect more and more energy to go into design / craft in the years ahead... it will be how you win or lose. Eric is right about plenty of things, but the market will prove him wrong on this one...
