"Gender abolition" isn't even possible. You can abolish gender *roles*, but gender is an internal, inherent feeling, not something that's socially constructed. You can't just raise someone to think they're not their gender, we know this!

people conflate innate with unchanging and socially constructed with mutable, but these aren't synonymous. gender is such a layered construct that some aspects may be changeable, others more fixed, and others somewhere in between. how these interact varies from person to person
