Universities should be governed by staff and students. Sadly, #UAlberta’s Board of Governors undermined any chance of this happening. Read my take on how the Board of Governors killed collegial governance and the implications for our community #abpse
Opinion: " What happened December 11 was not a meeting. For our campus, it was a live execution carried out by 13 board members. It was the death of collegial governance." bit.ly/3idAncQ

Today, #UAlberta Board of Governors increased tuition for the 5th year in a row. Unlike last year, BoG banned people from taking photos during the meeting - presumably because board members don't want the public to see them increasing costs on students #abpse

In response, I thought I'd share some of the amazing photos captured by @The_Gateway photojournalists from last year's meeting. A reminder that public bodies should be publicly accountable to those they serve!

Wow I have never seen a @UASUualberta organized protest with such a low turnout. Last year’s β€œhalt the hike” protest was really well attended. I’m confused how this happened
As voting approaches, there are four students in attendance at the protest.

Extremely happy to see this article published with @DrJaredWesley. Beyond being a great research topic, the use of personas in #cdnpoli has important implications for how parties create policies and communicate them to the public. Make sure to check out our research!
My latest research with @mitchellpawluk examines the use of personas -- like "Dougie" -- in political communications and policymaking. This was one of my favourite studies to date. ojs.deakin.edu.au/index.php/……

Q: how will you help VPs in achieving their goals? Ley commits to consensus-based decision-making to build a culture of trust. He would then work with each exec to see how he can best support their work
