Imagine complaining about an afternoon NBA game. I want NBA games 24-7. I wanna wake up at 8am to NBA games. I wish I was an NBA game.

In 1667, there was a book called “l nipotismo di Roma” (“The History of the Popes' Nephews”).
It explored how Pope Sixtus IV granted favors to his “nephews.”
Now, ‘nepotism’ means “favoritism based on kinship.”

Meet Albert Camus, the philosopher who dared to confront life's biggest question: what does it mean to live in a world without inherent meaning?
A French-Algerian writer, journalist, and Nobel Prize winner, Camus explored the absurdity of existence, the limits of certainty, and the freedom that comes from accepting life's contradictions.
Through works like The Stranger, The Plague, and The Myth of Sisyphus, he challenged readers to stop waiting for the universe to provide answers and start living with courage, honesty, and purpose.

The other day my students were giving presentations, and one of them chose to talk about music. Somewhere in the middle of it, she casually said, "I listen to The Night We Met, not because I'm in love with someone. I just like listening to it for myself. It reminds me of the Moon or anything that's beautiful" and then she moved on to the next slide. I didn't, however! For some reason, that sentence stayed with me. We treat love as if it only becomes real when another person is involved. We hear a love song and immediately think of a beloved. We forget that sometimes love has nowhere to go except back to ourselves. Maybe that's something we've slowly lost, the ability to enjoy something beautiful without needing another person attached to it. To feel deeply without making someone else the centre of the feeling. Maybe the longest relationship you'll ever have is the one with yourself. It deserves a love song too.

“Reading is sometimes thought of as a form of escapism, and it’s a common turn of phrase to speak of getting lost in a book. But a book can also be where one finds oneself; and when a reader is grasped and held by a book, reading does not feel like an escape from life so much as it feels like an urgent, crucial dimension of life itself. There are books that seem to comprehend us just as much as we understand them, or even more. There are books that grow with the reader as the reader grows, like a graft to a tree.” – Rebecca Mead, My Life in Middlemarch

What happened when Steve Young finally got the Super Bowl monkey off his back?
I’ll let @peter_king tell it like only he can.
Cookies, Gatorades, bright red projectile vomit, comatose IV treatments, and after-parties that never quite took off.
What a night for the Super Bowl XXIX MVP, & Peter King was there to download the entire thing.
@Thepivot on @netflix.

We don’t always know what somebody else is carrying. The joy and the struggle can be there at the same time. I’ve learned to find gratitude in the middle of it, and for the people who meet me there ♥️

I just want you to remember that we live in a world where crows will tell their children about you, goats have accents, some frogs freeze into frogsicles in winter and then thaw again in spring, some sea slugs become powered by the sun just by eating green algae, and squirrels plants millions of trees every year just by forgetting where they’ve buried their nuts.
Famed soprano Martina Arroyo has died. She was 90.
With her luminous voice and ease on stage, the Harlem native broke barriers as one of the first major Black opera stars in the 1960s and 1970s.
She was also familiar to the nation's TV viewers at the time as a frequent guest on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show."
In 2013, she was honored by the Kennedy Center, just one of her many awards.
Arroyo announced her retirement in 1989 and devoted herself to teaching.
