So I recently got a prescription for legal weed and I’m here to talk about it in this handy dandy thread because it’s pretty opaque about how you get access to legal cannabis in NZ.

Founded in 1840, DIA is the oldest govt agency in New Zealand. They’re called “The Mother of all Departments”. Before this year they’d never been on strike If DIA is going on strike, then maybe it’s not due to a lack of bargaining skills 🤷🏻‍♀️ rnz.co.nz/news/political/120…

Won’t somebody spare a thought for the true victims. The public servants that can’t get across Molesworth St to visit their Minister. How have we not heard about this total crisis yet! The sheer impact that the Molesworth St cycle lane has on govt productivity!!!

Y’all Parliament haven’t actually passed the Budget yet If any events within a party were to cause concern for a coalition partner, the concerned partner could withdraw their coalition support to pass the Budget and it’d trigger a snap election so the govt doesn’t shut down 🤙

If you were a veteran politician you may see benefit in triggering a snap election. Gives you the upper hand. You’ve either thrown a PM under scrutiny or one that’s brand new straight into campaign mode

I used to be a union organiser for inpatient mental health and youth justice facility workers. They receive regular and ongoing training in restraint techniques that use “reasonable force”. They still regularly get it wrong rnz.co.nz/news/politics/8607…

And sometimes the difference between a proper and improper use of force is so hard to tell. You genuinely need security footage to rewind and consider this But also when are teachers going to get trained in the use of reasonable force? That’s time out of the classroom

If we’re expecting teachers to use reasonable force to do their job then that recognises the job is more dangerous than previously assessed and their pay should increase for the higher training requirements and increased risk

Today is a great day to remember that a memo leaked from Pam Bondi that suggested charging people who film ICE with domestic terrorism. Today is a perfect example of why Everyone who filmed that agent murder Renee ensured the truth will out You have power. Document atrocities

the thing about that “first they came for” poem is that we’re at least halfway through it, and it’s not a very long poem

The ICE agent calling her a fucking bitch after shooting her and then denying her medical care sure seems like he wanted to murder her.

JD Vance: “He is protected by absolute immunity.” If ICE agents have “absolute immunity” that means they can never be prosecuted for anything done on the job. That's about as Orwellian as it gets.

Do people really think that the same guy who tried to overthrow American democracy when he lost an election is going to bring democracy to Venezuela? Lol
