Miris ya, dulu ketika Tsunami Aceh 2004, para gajah kalian nobatkan jadi pahlawan karena membantu evakuasi korban dari puing reruntuhan yang tidak bisa dijamah peralatan waktu itu. Sekarang, penguasa melibas habis rumahnya. Rakyat dibungkam UU KUHAP, gajah dibungkam deforestasi.

Warga Desa Meunasah Lhok, Pidie Jaya, Aceh, menemukan bangkai gajah sumatera yang tertimbun kayu dan lumpur pada Sabtu (29/11). Temuan ini mengejutkan karena gajah jarang muncul dekat permukiman.
Hewan dilindungi itu diduga hanyut dari kawasan hutan akibat arus deras dan material banjir besar setelah luapan Sungai Meureudu pada Selasa (25/11). Petugas dan warga meyakini gajah terseret banjir hingga terbawa ke area dekat perumahan.
