To @osseneth I’ve supported the collection and 6529’s vision since the first SZN. I'm also an artist of 2 cards. At the start, the team had a clear vision: to drive a meme movement in favor of decentralization and self-sovereignty. A low-cost meme card, with no utility and no promises. Buy only what you like, skip a dinner out, and support the “propaganda” movement, while also helping artists aligned with the vision. Then came gatekeeping by the top collectors and the massive price inflation of SZN 2: tens of thousands of dollars for (sometimes) mediocre works by artists hand-picked by the team. From SZN 3 onward there was a return to a balance based on TDH, a kind of soft staking, and on simply continuing to collect. People still having fun. That idea was pushed to the extreme in recent years with the motto “mint and forget,” and with automatic minting tools where you don’t even know what you’re buying. Some red flags never fixed: - finding out that 6529 couldn’t accept submissions from Iranian artists or from artists in other countries not on friendly terms with the US. An “administrative” issue that would supposedly be solved once full decentralization arrived. - issues around decisions on mint sizes and frequency, mint price, artist royalties, and the team’s share of revenue. We were promised that all of this would be resolved when fully decentralized. - the promised new chain will come with a “miner node” and a “native token”. Never really explained, but well known direction, especially among those who play the TDH game the hardest. Meanwhile, the years go by and the mints can never stop, not even if nobody is minting. Three a week. By now, little remains of the original vision. And real decentralization never arrived. The community is still full of wonderful people, but every day there are fewer and fewer of them left.
