Do you remember before the internet, we thought the main cause of stupidity was the lack of access to information?..
Yeah, it wasn’t that..
Thanks for understanding..
This is speculative fiction at its most transformative.. A cold world, a warm friendship, and ideas bold enough to reshape how we think about being human.. Ursula Guin doesn't just build a world.. She builds a truth.. Sharp, deliberate, and deeply moving, is a journey of not just the mind but spirit.. She dismantles gender and power with elegant subtlety.. A must read for anyone for anyone who believes that stories can and do change us..

There was a time when we spoke of Kerala being the most literate state as a mere statistic.. Today there is nothing better than Malayalam cinema..
Literacy and education are just operative words..
What stands true is - the effect has a cause..

Revisiting some films is as much a salute to a film as it is to your ability to find layers in its cinematic intention, digging deeper.. This British film happens to be one of those..
A film that scores in every department of filmmaking.. A tremendous example of what collaborative effort is all about..
Emotional, insightful, provoking both thoughts & senses and bloody powerful.. You do end up keeping all of it in mind & heart all over again but at a higher place on your esteem ladder..
And then a grander salute to an 80 year old director, Ken Loach who dares to bring this to life.. He is 88 now.. Do watch in case you haven’t already..

Fabulous thread for anyone who is interested in cinematography..
For such a massive action-packed film, I love how TOP GUN: Maverick also nails simple lighting techniques to create beautiful dramatic scenes.
They use a single source approach often motivated by just a window in a room. Note that there's practicals (lamps) that aren't even on.
The contrast ratios are great and for such easy setups the film looks big and expensive even in it's small moments.
Think about how "boring" these locations are and how many films would have gone off the rails over-lighting this to death.

It tears you apart, pierces, hurts deeper than where flesh is, makes you look at crucial aspects of life as if you could restart and change the course..
Won’t divulge much.. Please do read..
Thank you Adi for recommending and thank you Shephali for recommending it to him..
