A wonderful opportunity tomorrow night to hear a legendary US peace activist, Kathy Kelly. Kathy was in Iraq during both the 1991 and 2003 wars, and led many sanctions-breaking delegations to Iraq in between. Peace News is honoured to be hosting Kathy. peacenews.info/node/10467/re…

UPDATE: This is what happened this evening when @AhmedEttanji tried to leave his house:
We're getting worrying reports that our colleague and friend, journalist @AhmedEttanji's house in the occupied territories of Western Sahara is surrounded by Moroccan security services this evening. His journalism has shed light on Rabat's human rights abuses in Western Sahara.
Western Sahara has been illegally occupied by Morocco since 1975. Now Morocco has broken the ceasefire that's existed since 1991.
We wrote a piece for today's @thecontinent_/@mailandguardian, in partnership with @AfricaDemocracy on the outbreak of war in Western Sahara, and why Saharawi people have returned to armed struggle after a 29-year ceasefire agreement with Rabat: bucket.mg.co.za/wp-media/202…

URGENT: Today was the wedding of two of our friends and colleague journalists at @Equipe_Media: @AhmedEttanji and @ElkhalidiNazha in occupied El Aaiún, Western Sahara. Instead of celebration, it's been a day of terror from Moroccan police: 1/4
