#ARREST | Detectives investigating the stabbing of a group of males in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning (20 September) have arrested three men. At around 6.35am, officers were called to Tithebarn Street after three men were found injured. All three victims were taken to hospital for assessment and one remains in hospital in a stable condition. It is believed the incident took place outside the G-Bar on Eberle Street following an altercation between two groups inside. Following enquiries, we have arrested a 31-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, a 22-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of two counts of s18 wounding and an 18-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of one count of s18 wounding. All three are in custody and enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Liverpool BCU Chief Superintendent Natalie Perischine said 🗣️ “We have a zero-tolerance approach to anyone who chooses to carry a weapon in the city centre and my message to those individuals is ‘we will hunt you down’. “Officers have been working round the clock to identify those responsible for this shocking incident in the early hours of Sunday morning. Within hours of it taking place we had executed a number of warrants and now have three people in custody. “Our proactive work to combat violence in the city centre remains a priority and we are seeing positive results. “As part of Operation Amalfi, which focuses on youth violence, and Operation Monaco, we have seen an uplift in proactive city centre patrols, increased visibility at weekends and public holidays, the successful use of dispersal zones and city centre banning orders and continued partnership work. “Year on year we have seen a 10% reduction in serious violence in the city centre as well as reductions in knife and violent crime. “Liverpool is already recognised as one of the safest cities for a night out, as demonstrated by our Purple Flag status, which has been awarded for 16 consecutive years. “We know how important it is that people who live, work and socialise in Liverpool city centre, feel safe and I want the public to be reassured that we are doing everything in our powers to find violent criminals and put them behind bars"

APPEAL | Detectives are appealing for information following a stabbing in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 20 September. At around 6.35am, officers were called to Tithebarn Street after three men were found injured. All three victims have been taken to hospital for assessment. Two are in a stable condition and the third sustained minor injuries. CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries continue and cordons are in place on Tithebarn Street, Eberle Street and Temple Lane. It is initially believed that the incident took place outside the G-Bar on Eberle Street. Detective Chief Inspector Lisa McNaughton said: “We understand the concern that such a serious incident will cause in the community. This is why it is so vital that anyone with information comes forward as a matter of urgency. It appears that some form of altercation broke out near to G-Bar, resulting in the three victims sustaining injuries. “The suspected weapon has been recovered and will be forensically examined. We will do all we can to identify the person responsible and support the victims as this investigation progresses. If you saw or captured any part of this incident, let us know and we will take action. “The consequences of this incident could have been even worse so be assured that we will relentlessly pursue the offender.
