I'm thinking about awards to give away to the Elixir community at ElixirConf. Here's what I've come up with so far but I'd love some input. All this is "ideation"
Awards are physical and attendees would need to be present at ElixirConf so they can receive it!

@mikirez wonderfully describes characteristics of tech leaders. Technical success is "buttered" (made better) by thoughtful and inclusive collaboration and pre-planning and iteration. Not pure technical prowess.

A friend is in desperate need of a small plane to transfer her and her critically ill 4 year old son to Phoenix from New York in the coming few days. They have the pilot, money for fuel, fees and medical staff, but are in urgent need of the plane itself.
Can you help?

I hope one good thing that comes from this virus is that execs/mgrs realize how much work goes into raising a child. After this, home-school teacher, or primary caretaker on a resume should be treated like a VP role at a fortune 500 .@mikirez

There are a lot of things to talk about in that post. But the thing I always like to point out is that HR is not your friend. They can be useful if you know how to engage them. But they are not in your side. Always remember that.

One of the most important thing people with privilege can do is tell others how much they get paid. The culture of secrecy around compensation is one of the biggest tools of discrimination and wage theft.
