On the day of atonement, Israelites "afflict their souls" and "do no work." Not separate items, but mutually explanatory: Refraining from work afflicts the soul.
Converse: Work is soul-refreshing, not merely an instrument to make a living but a form of life, an expression of liveliness.
Thus: Lack of work shrivels the soul.
"Such is the demand of our nature for an object in pursuit that no accumulation of previous success can extinguish it..."

We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living. Earlier today, after suffering an emergency medical incident, he entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since he was converted as a college student. Please pray for Bridget, their children, and grandchildren.

@AGoldFan I’d love to hear more on why Canes fans are losing their minds on Burns, but are silent on Walker -4, Ghost is -7, Svech is -7, Roslovic is -10.
Slavin is “great” (and he is). He has 21 pts.
Burns is “awful, needs to retire, etc.” He also has 21 pts.
Maybe Rantanen is great, but was also great playing with Mackinnon. Maybe there’s still only one Crosby, McDavid, etc.

Today is a great day to start reading the Bible. Read 3-5 chapters a day (about 10-15 minutes per day) and you’ll finish before the end of the year.

“We will call it Raleigh-Durham International Airport.”
Named for the city of Raleigh-Durham, sir?
“It’s actually two different cities.”
And which one will the airport be in?
“Morrisville.”

Anyone with a trailer in the Raleigh area want to help Aaron and the alumni out send him a message so they can help get water to the area. Thanks Caniacs!!!
Is there any company in the Raleigh Durham area that owns a tractor trailer(s) and who is willing to partner with the @CarolinaNHLAlum in collecting cases of bottled drinking water to send to Western North Carolina? Alumni will show, help unload and load the water. We are working on a collection location now. @redoakbrew @LongBevCraft @rhbcraftbeer
