What’s interesting to me about British media culture, specifically news media, and I’ve said it before. I don’t feel like the 70% of people who despise the establishment get much of a showing, unless they also happen to ardently anti-immigrant, but otherwise pro-capital.

A good way of thinking about British politics today: A status quo where so many people have felt so unhappy with so many different parts of the state for such a long time isn't ultimately sustainable.

Brexit means Brexit and the mere suggestion of a second referendum has people foaming at the mouth
But yet our democratically elected PM should step down after 6 months because some bigots signed a petition & a megalomaniac billionaire in the US doesn’t like him?
Strange world

Since becoming a Member of Parliament, two of my Parliamentary colleagues have been murdered. The current atmosphere being stoked up by malicious actors risks more lives being lost.

Idle gossip from the FT, why not call out the lies?
The only person in the article cited is, Matt Goodwin. This, by itself, negates the entire piece.
This quote is quite funny, however, and should be a wake-up call for the grifter, @Nigel_Farage.

Americans truly don't understand the difference between their government shutdowns and dragged out European coalition talks huh
Amazing things happen when government shuts down ✌️
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Spain did not have a government shutdown. The article refers to a period of coalition talks, during which the old government was still operating in caretaker capacity. No European country has government shutdowns comparable to those in the United States.

OK, now I'm convinced Starmer's actively trying to lose the next election and destroy the Labour Party in the process.

It’s amazing: the very same people who never shut up about how vaccines are evil and part of some government mind control experiment are the very same ones shouting now about how we need to get in on Putin’s cancer vaccine right away.

Interesting FACT:
In 2019, researchers found 150 cases of gender-affirming surgeries among 13-17 year olds.
- 97% of those (146 cases) were teenage boys getting chest reduction surgeries to treat gynecomastia—aka "man boobs".
So yes, “gender-affirming care” is happening, just not in the way you think. The other 4 were chest surgeries for trans women. Yes 4 people out of 350,000,000 million. Aren't there more pressing things to spend our time on politically?
Oh and should we ban boys (146 in 2019) from getting breast reduction surgery too?

In 2018, a labourer from Orkney who had never been out of work was diagnosed with epilepsy after collapsing on a building site. He was found pacing back and forth outside a foodbank when referred, fearing he was taking food intended for others. #WhenChristmasEqualsCrisis

Biden's decision to pardon Hunter opens the door for Trump to pardon with impunity when he takes office.
There's no need for even a pretence of accountability.

Unless Musk being proxy PM in 4 years is the change you’re talking about…
You best prioritise political and campaign financing law reform pronto.
