This is so disingenuous, it disgusting. Taking ownership for something they played a very minor role in. Many of what used to be pillars in the community were removed by clowns. Eelco Dolstra, the creator of Nix. Removed as foundation president and unofficial BDFL title over supporting Anduril sponsorship of NixCons. Myself, a 3 (almost 4) time NixOS release manager. Remove over working at Anduril and trying to participate in discussions. I was only active for 4 years, been banned for over two years and still THE THIRD HIGHEST REVIEWER OF HUMAN NIXPKGS PRS. Nrdxp, fellow NixOS RM, also removed. @domenkozar, 7 time NixOS RM. commit bit removed for likely political reasons. In 2024, another dozen or so contributors were also banned or suspended. A dozen or so other contributors and committers have also walked away because of the drama. Meanwhile, there are others who went on strike, created hostile open letters, and harassed people; meanwhile receiving no recourse. Hexa, went on strike from his infra and security roles. "Purge all nazis" while head moderator. Nothing Raito, went on strike from his security role. Nothing Delroth, also went on strike from infra, said "fuck you" multiple times, social media brigading, painted me as a Peter Thiel shill, allegedly tried to get access to the binary signing key. Nothing People (ktemkin, qyriad, and others) involved with the MIC open letter threatening "escalation if demands are not met". Nothing Joepie, multiple instances of harassment and cry bullying. Nothing. And mods (hexa, piegames) cleaned up what they could of his inflammatory rhetoric. Cafkafk, changed your discourse banner to an Anduril advert overlayed with NixOS branding, several posts and blogs escalating the tensions and painting Anduril employees as instigators. Now you call yourself the "mastermind behind the woke invasion" during the reddit AMA in which you missed a SC meeting to conduct, all the while sitting on the SC. What are you doing right now? Does your behavior and actions help Nix? No I knew you and other like you would change the narrative once a few years passed, which is why I made the timeline and video while those events were still relatively fresh. You may fool people who are ignorant of what has happened. But you have created quite the persona over the years.

Nothing humans make is perfect and it seems like @nrdqed has been working on an alternative to Nix. Did he get it right? Would you be able to tell? What does it look like? How much does it cost? It's open source. Did I understand any of it? Will you join Tim in founding formal trust in the software supply chain? So many questions. Some of the answers must be in the latest episode of Full Time Nix. fulltimenix.com/episodes/is-…

Important testimony thread
I was on Ubuntu’s first design team in 2009 London, hired by Mark Shuttleworth to make Linux beautiful. It didn’t work, and Omarchy is making me think about why.

Just published a conversation with Tom Sydney Kerckhove of NixCI. I was impressed by the level of engineering. Tom is obviously a testing expert, a huge Nix Freak and always brilliant conversation. So queue it up or listen now. fulltimenix.com/episodes/nix…

If you're new to flakes, read this.
The simplest way to make a flake automaticallly support all nixpkgs platforms supports was there all along. No other flakes needed! `nix flake init` now does it right by default: nixcademy.com/posts/new-defa…

FlakeHub has achieved FedRAMP High Authorization and is listed in the FedRAMP Marketplace 🎉🏛️🔐 This makes Determinate platform features like secure Nix packages, binary caching, and private flakes available to U.S. federal agencies and orgs handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Nix's reproducible builds, sandboxing, and other supply chain features make it uniquely well suited for the highest-stakes environments and we're thrilled to finally bring it inside the FedRAMP boundary.
