Sian's husband wrote a book, but the "walk" has been years in the making. Finally here is the full story in his far more eloquent words, 1 year later. It's relevant to EVERY woman and those that know a woman in the UK. desertspiesandnhslies.com/ #breastcancer #nhs #screening – at Bath, England

X/Twitter has changed a great deal, and there's a lot of detritus on here, but - it still has incredible power. Mum just called. Clare is on her way home, with 4 weeks' NHS Continuing Healthcare cover agreed. Thank you so much, everyone. Common sense prevailed.
I had hoped I wouldn't need to post this. I don't invade my sister's privacy lightly, but I have no choice. This is the only thing I can do to help her. A 🧵 Clare has Rett syndrome. She can't communicate and needs 24-hour care. Her disability means her breathing's compromised.

The hospital says she's fit for discharge, provided someone can be with her all of the time in her care home to clear her airways, until she recovers fully. This costs money, of course. Money that @HWHCT_NHS, who oversee NHS Continual Healthcare, have just said they won't provide

BREAKING NEWS – NICE has approved antifibrotic drug nintedanib for ALL IPF patients. After 6-year campaign by @ActionPFCharity NICE has axed the unjust ‘80% rule’ which denied IPF patients the drug until their lung function had fallen to 80%. But, why did it take so long? #CurePF – at East, England
