I see @indiawilloughby is *still* lying in his bio about being "UK Woman of the Year 2023". He wasn't. To set the record straight -
"India Willoughby was nominated (one of several hundred attendees), not the overall or sole “UK Woman of the Year 2023” winner.(thelondoneconomic.com/news/i…)
Key facts
- Contemporary reporting from outlets including *The London Economic*, *The Herald*, and others, plus Willoughby’s own writing at the time, consistently described it as a "nomination". Willoughby was nominated by a panel for campaign work and attended the Women of the Year Lunch and Awards on 16 October 2023 at the Royal Lancaster in London, along with more than 400 other [actual] women (thelondoneconomic.com/news/i…)
- The organisation (Women of the Year) invites a large group of nominees each year. Its site states that each guest “is nominated by a member of the Women of the Year Nominating Council... attending the gathering as a ‘Woman of the Year’.” Specific awards (e.g. Lifetime Achievement, Campaign of the Year) are then given to a small number of people. The 2023 specific award winners included Baroness Hale, Merope Mills, Lisa Woodcock, and others—Willoughby was not among them.(womenoftheyear.co.uk/awards/…)
- Willoughby’s current X/Twitter bio lists “UK Woman Of Year 2023.” This appears to be a shorthand or self-description of the nomination/invitation status that the event uses for its large group of attendees, rather than a claim of having won a singular top prize.
In short: nominated and invited as one of the many “Women of the Year” guests for the 2023 event, not awarded as the winner of the title in the sense of a sole or overall recipient."

It's great that the BBC are doing a documentary to expose what an evil bigot JK Rowling is, but I do worry that they might mess it up and accidentally reveal that her 'extreme' views are the same views held by every sane adult ever born.

Trans activists have been violently assaulting women at @ThePosieParker events for years. You'd think @louistheroux would see a story in it, given his interest in these hot button issues. But he pretends not to know about it so as to avoid talking about it at all.

In today's episode of #EverydaySexism, this lovely Professor of Law from @SwanseaUni has felt the need to make a degrading, sexualised comment to belittle my ranking as one of the best professional discipline lawyers in the UK. Funnily enough, he didn't feel the need to make a similar comment about any of the men ranked in the same category. In case you're wondering how many legal directories Professor Tettenborn is ranked in, the answer is zero.

Miller v Home Secretary and @LincsPolice
On the orders of the Home Secretary, police are now recording full fat hate crimes against individuals -
- No evidence needed beyond the say so of a complainant
- No interview under caution
- No charge
- No CPS
- No magistrate, judge or jury
- No guilty verdict
Just straight to a criminal record without passing Go.
We say that is abhorrent. We say this is a police state Britain.

This is for any actors who are members of Equity. They’ve sent out a vague email about rule changes. One of the changes is replacing the Women’s seat on Council with a Gender Equality one where anyone can self ID as a woman. There’s already an LGBT seat 1)

🚨 NEW: An English teacher at an elite private girls’ school travelled to Thailand for “bottom surgery” over the summer.
Before his trip, he raised around £6,500 through a public crowdfunder, which listed the following costs:
Surgery fees: £8,200
Flights to Thailand: £3,000 (economy outbound, business class return to allow him to lie flat during recovery)
Four weeks’ accommodation near the clinic: £1,400
Post-operative care and supplies: £400
Travel insurance and contingency fund: £400
Total fundraising target: £13,400.
The headteacher of Headington School in Oxford appears to be among the donors.
The crowdfunding page was removed yesterday afternoon, shortly after [Un]Captured approached the school for comment.

Media references to #LolaSalem have been disappearing all day, even though it had taken the fearless gentlemen of His Majesty’s Press until 10 October to report her court appearance on 30 September. #Oxford had suspended her as long ago as June, when she was charged, and when she was either still living with #MichaelGove or very recently separated from him. #Gove is an active member of the #HouseOfLords as well as the Editor of The Spectator, for which #Salem was still writing on Friday, 10 days after her hearing, although all trace of her time there has now been deleted from the magazine’s own site. davidaslindsay.blogspot.com/…

Ironic.
The very people who have been trying to explain the terminology & its implications TO Woman's Hour over the last decade are often women over 60. WH has refused to listen to us and now they have the audacity to suggest we're the ones who need things explaining to us 🙄

Some of us are 60 year old female Equality lawyers. We understand when the latest “terminology” of activists on sex and gender is inconsistent with what the Equality Act actually says. Also the consequential effect that has on vulnerable women.

How can BBC Woman's Hour justify coming off X? Because they didn't like the pushback? How fists-in-your-ears arrogant can you get? Unacceptable for a public service broadcaster. The programme focuses on tiny, tangential issues to women while virtually ignoring the wholesale assualt on women's rights and safety that is taking place in so many spheres because of its editors' and presenters' unjustified ideological adherence to trans ideology. The tide is turning and Woman's Hour is looking increasingly anachronistic.

“Here on Radio 4 many of our audience are over 60. They don’t understand the terminology [of sex and gender] …”
A very foolish age-based line to draw. Women of 60 are women of working age who must understand responsibilities, liabilities and rights at work under equality law

It is shameful of BBC Woman's Hour not to acknowledge the massive contribution journalist Jenni Murray made to its programme.
Yes shameful @BBCWomansHour 80th birthday broadcast failed to mention, JENNI MURRAY, who presented the programme for 33 YEARS.
Why did Jenni Murray leave?
Because @BBC editors would not let her discuss the negative impact of trangenderism & gender self ID on women & girls.

Steph Richards, a man, was interviewed at length and featured again last night.
He's over 60, but of course as a special man he understands words, unlike the old girls who listen. Woman's Hour is both ageist and sexist.
The editor of @BBCWomansHour appeared on @BBCRadio4 to say that women over 60 need to have language explained to them which many might think sexist & ageist.
She says they "reflect the law", but it's "moving".
She's impartial, apparently.
