School shootings IN SCHOOLS are rare, but heartbreaking when they occur
Bend, Oregon just had such a shooting.
The usual recriminations followed.
But You know which state NEVER has these classroom shootings?
Utah.
You know why?
Because in Utah, citizens 21 years and older who have concealed carry permits can carry their firearms in schools.
That includes teachers and staff.
A potential school shooter doesn't know who is armed.
Hence schools are a particularly bad choice for anyone wanting to shoot unarmed people.
There have been ZERO Utah shooting inside K-12 schools since the law passed 25 years.
This decision entails ZERO cost to the taxpayers, and is much more effective than other options.
No, his ego overwhelmed any concern that he would split the Republican vote and allow Slick Willie to be elected President. I still resent him for it.

A warning to the U.S.:
My dear American friends,
I say this with love, as someone who has lived among you and owes you a great deal: your midterms are on November 3rd. And the same alliance is growing inside your Democratic Party. The same far-left wing that treats disorder as protest and police as the enemy. The same activists who refuse to draw a line between legitimate dissent and those who openly despise the West. The same politicians who think tolerance means tolerating everything, including the people who want to burn it down.
It always starts with excuses. Then comes impunity. Then come the flames.
Same causes, same effects. If you create the conditions we created, you will get exactly what we got tonight.
France was the country of the Enlightenment, of cathedrals and town halls that stood for centuries. Tonight, one of them collapsed live on social media while the government called for calm.
My dear American friends, the only advantage you have over us is that you've been warned.
Vote like your city hall depends on it. Because one day, it will. “
Tonight, France burned. America, you should be watching very carefully.
Today, October 17, 2026, more than half a million people marched across France against the cost of living. By 8pm, around 400 had been arrested. In Paris, police turned water cannons on the crowds at Place de la République, and one march was stopped 150 meters from the Élysée Palace. Of the 195 people arrested in the capital by the afternoon, only one actually lived in Paris. Mobs forced their way into the city halls of Marseille and Lille. In Lyon, a tourism office was set on fire. In Rennes, barricades burned. Near Limoges, a highway was blocked and police cars were torched.
And then came Limoges.
A crowd of very young people stormed the city hall, a protected historic monument built in the 1880s. They flipped police cars in front of it and set them ablaze, then set the building itself on fire. The flames took the roof, the wedding hall, and the civil registry, the office that records every birth, every marriage, every death in the city. Tonight, the bell tower that has crowned Limoges for nearly 150 years collapsed.
The mayor's response: "It's a monument that is burning, not the Republic."
That is the problem in one sentence. Our leaders still think words can put out fires.
None of this came out of nowhere. For twenty years, the French political class has excused everything. Every riot was "anger." Every burned car was a "social symptom." Every attack on police was "a reaction to provocation." And the hard left, La France Insoumise, which officially backed today's mobilization, built its electoral machine on an alliance with political Islamism: refusing to condemn, refusing to name, trading secularism and public order for votes. In France we have a word for it. Islamo-gauchisme. Islamo-leftism.
Tonight you saw where that culture of excuse ends. A country where a mob can burn down a town hall, and the state arrives after the roof has already fallen in.

Hey, @LeaderJohnThune - why do you allow a sitting senator threaten the freedom of speech and their choice to serve @POTUS with the threat of being a victim of lawfare at hands of @ElissaSlotkin and her band of Soviet Communists?
This is not only anti-American, it's blatantly illegal...
You must do something to correct and end this blatant attack on people exercising their constitutional rights...
This absolutely exceeds any standard of incitement! Slotkin should be facing prosecution and expulsion from the Senate over this!! Hey @LeaderJohnThune !! When are you going to uphold any standards of conduct? If these Marxists destroy our Constitution it's on YOU!!

I have a very strong feeling that the real scandal surrounding Ilhan Omar is not her dubious immigration or financial history, but rather that so many senior-ranking Democrats knew about all of it and deliberately chose to do nothing.

There’s no way in hell this is accurate. No way Texans would pick this little trans loving Creep over Paxton. No way.

Ukraine is a money laundering machine that both the EU and US corporations make billions from and allow the country of Ukraine to slowly bleed out and become destroyed as a nation... @ZelenskyyUa is, as President Trump said, the Barnum and Bailey show master who keeps this circus going...
This shouldn’t surprise anybody.
Paxton is singlehandedly killing the Bush dynasty in Texas and he’s been doing it as AG for years.
That’s why the Bush family launched a phony impeachment of Paxton in the Texas House. The Texas Senate acquitted him of all charges.
That’s why the Bush family supported Cornyn, who Paxton crushed in the primary and it’s why Bush crony Karl Rove is supporting Talafreako by constantly bashing Paxton, while ignoring Talafreako’s radical leftwing views that go against most Texans.
The Bush family will support anybody but Paxton.
They never cared about Texas.
They have ALWAYS only cared about themselves.

There are many MAGA voters who are highly dissatisfied with the eGOP, so they say:
“I’m not gonna vote in these midterms, that’ll teach ‘em!”
The assumption underlying such sentiment is that losing Republicans will “learn their lesson” and say to themselves: “Gosh, we lost because we were not conservative enough; we’ll be way more conservative next time!”
But that assumption is completely faulty, and the EXACT OPPOSITE reaction is what happens in reality. Those losing Republicans in a blue or purple state instead learn the exact OPPOSITE lesson and say to themselves: “Gosh, if we’re ever going to win we need to move to the Left and be more like Democrats, we’ll just be Democrat-lite and people will start voting for us again!”
If you are one of those spiteful voters, realize this:
YOU ARE NOT DEFEATING RINOS. YOU ARE CREATING RINOS.
Such voters then sit around and moan “How did this happen?”
They are like someone who deliberately shoots himself in the foot and then wonders aloud why his foot has a bloody hole in it.
If I just described you, wise-up, please, before it’s too late.

One side is building spaceships. The other side is building a support group for people who regret existing.
The right is out here designing flying cars, reusable rockets, and weapons that actually work.
The far-left is sterilizing themselves, aborting the next generation, and acting like “having kids” is a personal attack.
One side is reaching for the future and potential. The other side is mad someone still wants kids and rockets to the moon.
We are not the same.

Just a reminder that these two men are hated by many Republicans & Dems alike. Hated. Ken Paxton beat John Cornyn so easily. And when the establishment, the snotty elites & the RINO’s go after Paxton & these two traitors say they’re rooting for Baby Beto aka Little Satan Tala-freako, it reinforces everything people cannot stand. They do not want self-serving cowards as leaders. No thanks. No more.
