what happened to our sovereignty? Why are our government bending the knee to what was supposed to be an economic union? And how can a government present budgets for years they may not be in government?

Immigration to Welfare: Did you know the Govt passed a new Social Housing law this summer ? “The Housing and Residential Tenancies Act 2026” This Act sets the rules for asylum seekers’ access to social housing To qualify for social housing you must be “lawfully resident” and “habitually resident” in Ireland. “lawfully resident” includes: • Refugee status • Subsidiary protection • Permission to remain • Programme refugee status • Certain qualifying family permissions So once someone moves from being an asylum applicant, they have an immediate legal gateway to the social housing list. Social housing is NOT for citizens only. And To be clear: Until this summer, the rules governing migrants’ access to social housing were largely contained in a Departmental circular from 2012. The Govt has now written them directly into law. This was a chance to tighten up access to social benefits. Remember the Govt admit most are “economic migrants” But Instead they have doubled down. This directly affects the housing crisis. It puts new arrivals in direct competition with with disability campaigners & others for housing resources. Why are they doing this?

I agree Rachel, Israeli media are being very unfair.
Just as an FYI for anyone who still, due to their own prejudice, denies this obvious truth. Here is Sayed Abu Farchi’s Instagram with a caption 21 weeks ago of: ‘it’s all a celebration of snooker 🎱’. What he did was his signature celebratory move. Thus far three Irish outlets have spread disinformation about this. The Journal, the Irish Examiner, and our crooked national broadcaster, RTÉ.

The hysteria is real. Doesn’t look like a gun to me, but let’s not single out Irish media, are Israeli media also part of the cancel culture? jpost.com/israel-news/sports…
So Irish journos now predictably embracing the idiotic narrative instantly promoted by the Stop the Game cancel culture hate spreading obsessives by asserting Sayed Abu Farchi mimicked shooting a gun when celebrating his goal against Austria. What he mimicked was a successful snooker shot, as he has done previously. But of course spreading the hate is the priority for those dedicated to undermine the morale of our Irish team & to destroying Irish international football on the cusp of their failing Stop the Game campaign. Denigrating & demonising a star Maccabi Tel Aviv Arab Israeli Muslim footballer to promote hate while pretending to support the Palestinian community totally on brand & Irish journos under their spell who know nothing about Israeli footballers couldn’t resist joining the hate fuelled chorus. What is “ rotten to the core” is the five months of the hate fuelled campaign to Stop the Game, the cowardice of those hiding in anonymity behind this account, the false narratives it promotes & the targeting & intimidation of our Irish international football panel.

In the last few weeks we have found out Cork University Hospital does not want to employ Irish graduates 😲😲, foreign doctors are upset because they will have to take English language tests and wait a bit longer for their ticket to the world (our passport) 😠 AND now to top it all off we have found out doctors who are treating our vulnerable populations are not all garda vetted, we can't even be sure who they are and they probably don't speak English!! I'm so angry, if you are in hospital you are not well, you deserve the best of care with all the taxes we pay, yet you could be treated by an unqualified doctor, who can't speak English and may be a criminal. Who's had enough? Join us today independentireland.ie/join @independent_ire @MichaelC_IND_TD @RichardODonoghu @kenoflynnTD @FitzForDail

500K a week to provide for people who have no legal claim to be here, the deportation flights are looking cheap now! Deport.
MATT TREACY: More than 900 people with deportation orders remain in IPAS centres - a near doubling of numbers. Questions also need to be urgently answered regarding the increased number of asylum seekers being privately accommodated, as IPAS is full. gript.ie/treacy-cohort-in-ip…

Iran President Pezeshkian at the UN: "Those who are terrorists and train terrorists tell us that we are terrorists." "For two hundred years, Iran has not attacked any country. For two hundred years, we have always defended ourselves." "They bombed and killed these children, with weapons supplied by America and Israel. They were guilty of nothing. They had committed no crime." "In Gaza, they murdered more than eighty thousand innocent people." "Then they say others are terrorists, these are the ones causing instability -- are we the ones causing instability?" "Anyone they want to destroy, they label a terrorist." "Palestine remains a wound on the body of the conscience of the international community, and Gaza remains a symbol of the failure of international mechanisms to prevent the suffering of civilians." "Israel murders thousands of people in Gaza every week. But Iran was bombed while at the negotiating table." "Yet Israel receives billions of dollars in free weapons as a reward, and it is licensed to bomb any capital it wishes." "The nuclear bombs are in Israel, but the inspectors are in Iran. Israel kills, yet Iran is sanctioned, and this is a tragedy that would make anyone you tell laugh." "We must not build a world in which military power replaces legitimacy, sanctions replace diplomacy, terror replaces politics, and war replaces dialogue." "We have found our answer. We need power. Because a nation that cannot defend itself, they crush it in this world." "Let him know: the Iranian nation, in the face of force, will not bow its head, and will make the aggressors regret it."

Fifteen years of Fine Gael in Ireland: homes are unaffordable, births are collapsing, and immigration was piled on without the houses or services to support it. Simon Harris now sighs that the numbers are “too high.” You opened the tap. Don’t pretend you have clean hands. 🇮🇪:

Anger in the air among government TDs. Not the children hospital, Not the shite state of the health system, Not immigration chaos, Not the housing catastrophe, No, who got announcements about sports grants... Christ on a bike...
Fianna Fáil is in emergency conclave in Leinster House, hearing from Junior Sports Minister Charlie McConalogue. There’s anger in the air amid claims that FG got advance notice that registration for sports grants applications was opening next Monday. FG says info was shared.

Government report on data centres was 'flawed' and 'exaggerated', new research claims The researchers say that the arguments offered by the industry and successive governments in favour of data centres “do not stand up to empirical scrutiny” and are “designed to inflate the economic value of data centres”. The study also suggests that nearly 50,000 homes could have been built, or tens of thousands of jobs created across education, health or social sectors, if the resources used expanding data centres were directed elsewhere. #datacentres #HowIrelandWorks #FFG thejournal.ie/government-dat…

Alexander Coughlan murder and homophobia Alex Coughlan was murdered in north Dublin in May 2026. A 5-second disturbing and gory clip emerged on Twitter which appeared to show a male assaulting bloodied Alex who was on his knees not defending himself Two males (17 now, 16 in May) are before the Central Criminal Court for murder and robbery. Alone amongst our media outlets, Fatima Gunning, the legal correspondent for Gript states that the accused are of a Muslim background. The prosecution has been at pains to stress that the motive for the fatal assault was “robbery and extortion, and no other motive”. Extortion appears to have now been dropped, and is not mentioned in the recent court report. However, despite the claim by the prosecution about robbery being the motive, robbery was not the sole motive for the killing, and in the circumstances, homophobia is the likeliest superior motive (a) the gratuitous and sadistic violence meted out to a man who was on his knees and compliant was not “for robbery”, Alex was not resisting their demands, he was not defending himself from the blows; a bail hearing heard he had “no defensive injuries” (b) neither Alex’s phone or watch were robbed. Even the most basic smartphone can be fenced in Dublin for €30, fancier phones can be fenced for several hundred euros. Ditto for the watch. If robbery was the motive why weren’t they taken? The accused took a gold-coloured ring but unless they read the hallmarks, they had no idea of its value, €30 or €300. They took the wallet, but the bank cards were only used for consumable purchases including sweets and minerals. If robbery was “the motive”, they’re the world’s worst robbers. (c) one of the attackers was heard saying on video, and this has been repeated in court “I will smash the fuck out of you, you fucking little bitch” The word “bitch” can have many connotations depending on the genders of who says it and about whom, in what circumstances. In this incident, it is clearly an insult to feminise a man, and is plainly homophobic. Why hasn’t the DPP indicated this case will be prosecuted with a motive of homophobia? If the accused are convicted, they won’t face additional sanction under the Criminal Justice (Hate Offences) Act 2024 unless homophobia has been tested in the trial or is agreed in a plea? The DPP has been slow before to link serious cases to sensitive subjects, like Islamist terror for the Capel Street attack when all of us had seen the evidence was plainly captured on video.

The party that actually bankrupted the country lecturing others. Please explain why recent figures showed the state owned ESB were charging wholesale prices almost 4 times that of the next highest in Europe, caused by populism?
Populism & opportunism do not pay heating bills "We will use our Budget specifically focused on the energy issues families are facing" Minister @jackfchambers Our Budget will help working people, reward work & tackle the cost pressures families face, especially home heating oil

Gov needs to stop being lead around by the nose by vested interests, the thing we urgently need to construct is housing.
The Construction Industry Federation is placing data centres at the centre of a summit today, calling it “important from an Ireland Inc perspective” to "ramp up construction” in the sector. It comes as CIF says future home building has seen a "blip". thejournal.ie/construction-i…

Good to see the elephant in the room being discussed in today's Irish Independent. 'The real solution to housing might not be in any policy from the housing or finance ministers. We should ask Peter Burke over in Enterprise why record numbers of work permits are still being issued to non-EU workers, fuelling even more housing demand. Maybe some switches need to be turned off.'
