My grad student AJ did a great job with his poster at #MASDB2026, followed by an excellent experience at PNC Park (Bucco’s blew a 6-0 lead, but we got extra innings and fireworks!) #devbio
It’s that time of year…Cell-O-ween!
I think Robert Hooke and his cork cells (2nd row) took the crown this year!
Dev Bio costume day: frogs, sperm, eggs, day 4 mammalian blastocyst, twinned (Spemann-Mangold) embryos, Blaschko lines, and some mutants.
Presented at our Science-Symphony cross over event with the theme of ‘origins’. Developmental Biology is the perfect fit ! Lots of great discussions with the local community (only one involving Alabama though).

Don’t forget to tune in tonight for the show. NXR will be in the show. @MBLScience
Also this week, @SCampbellstaton visits the @XenopusNXR of @MBLScience to find out how the African Clawed Frog or Xenopus joined the ranks of the Replacements when a quirk of its biology made it indispensable. Learn more on #HumanFootprintPBS airing Wed, July 26 at 9/8c on @PBS!
We found a box of these things laying around the building, anyone know what they are (the cap not the tube).
my grad student did an awesome job at the #SDB2023 conference looking forward to 3 more days of dev bio!
Do any of the #xenopus researcher on here use WPI’s PV850, Upump or nanoliter2020 for injections? Looking for reviews before purchasing a new set up. Thanks!
Funded Master’s opportunity using #xenopus to study cell sorting behavior in the early embryo. Please RT and share with your undergrads!
Happy to announce that I received an Arkansas NIH-INBRE grant to support my research in #xenopus 🐸 for the next 2.5 years. Included is funding for one Master’s student, so I’ll post a separate announcement that I hope you all will retweet.
Skeletal staining of #xenopus 🐸 for Dev Bio lab turned out pretty well (especially for my first go at this protocol)! These things are amazing to look at!!
Always nice have to have some help with prepping the next lecture!
